Own room

When did everyone let their babies sleep in their own room or so they still sleep with you ? My boy sleeps in my room ( in his own cot) I’ve decorated his own room and he’s able to sleep in there I’m just scared … is anyone else the same ? One got a camera to check on him but it’s not the same 🥹

My daughter who is now 3.5 has had her own room since 1 however slept in our bed until most nights until 2.5yo.

Our son who is 16.5mo is still in our room because we don't have his own room yet - planning to move from a 2 bed flat next year. And because im not ready yet either because he still wakes at least twice to come into our bed. X

We moved our 16 month old to her own room around 13 months! She's in a toddler bed because she's terrified of the cot. We also have a camera to keep an eye, but if she cries I can hear her from our bedroom.

My daughter has been in her own room from about 9.5 months. When she was in our room she would come into our bed every morning for a sleep and now she hasnt slept once in our room since January!

We moved our little boy at 6 months old, earlier than planned but simply because we went on holiday and he was so used to his travel cot and the extra space he got that when we got home he wouldn’t settle at all! Our room can’t fit anything but a next to me in so we had no other choice, he moved into his own room in October and has pretty much slept 12 hours a night since ❤️

My 16 month old is still in with us because of sleep regressions, him waking up countless times a night and him not catching a break with bugs. He has daytime naps in his cot in his own room sometimes though

Moved him at 6 months, but for a long time we had to let him fall asleep in our arms first. Then he would sleep through the night (0~1 wake ups) in the cot. At around 1 year we "sleep-trained" him our way with the chair method and now we just need to give him his bunny and rub his back for a bit. We all sleep much better, and it's also great for my partner and I to have our space back at night.

My boy has been sleeping in his own room since 6.5 months old. He has slept so well ever since. I keep the baby camera right next to my face, beside my pillow all night, and I have it on full volume so I hear if he even moves just a little. It’s stressful at first (and my baby’s room is at the other end of the house… so quite far away) but soon you will get used to it, the baby sure did…. He loved his own space.

9 months but would have done earlier if we had the room. We were just disturbing each other. He and we sleep so much better now we have our own rooms

Do I really need an infant car seat?

I'm struggling with the wastefulness and consumerism that comes with creating a baby registry. So much of this stuff will be used for 2-3 months and then donated or trashed. I noticed that most of the convertible car seats are good from 4lbs to 50lbs. Can I just use that or do I need an infant car seat too?

Breast pump advice

Hey! I have been breast pumping since my baby was born mid-July. I’m just past the 4 week mark and my supply has dropped. I did see that this is common “week 4 reset” thing. I pump every two hours and am trying to eat and drink more (didn’t know how hard this would be as a first time mom lol)

My main concern is that the last week or so, just my right nipple has started to crack/so sore and is pretty freaking painful now while pumping. I have gone up and down a flange size and use nipples cream to assist with rubbing but nothing is working.

If it doesn’t get better I may have to quit and I don’t want that 😭

Any recommendations? / advice?

How do I prepare my velcro baby for nursery?

He’s 11.5months, spends 24/7 with me, exclusively breastfed, only transfers to cot when in deep sleep and cosleeps at night. I am so scared of traumatising him when he goes to nursery full time 😭

Apps recommendations for sleep/feed etc

Hey, does anyone recommend any good apps they’ve used to track sleep/wake cycles and feed timings? My 10 week LO fights sleeping the day and I want to start tracking wake windows etc to ensure I’m doing what I can to help him
Get some sleep during the day

barefoot shoes not ugly in uk?

can anyone recommend some NOT ugly barefoot shoes for toddlers in the uk? i’d prefer my daughter to be in barefoot shoes until she’s old enough to ask me for other shoes she wants, however her feet have always been long and she’s quickly outgrowing her other barefoot shoes. i love the look of the duckies shoes but the biggest size they do is a size 6 if i’m not wrong? which is the size my daughter is currently in so no point buying those but the barefoot trainers in my opinion look awful with all the different colours on them🤣🤣
