Hi ladies any advice for dropping the dummy I find it’s more hassle than it’s worth and my baby just doesn’t keep it in but wakes when it comes out. She seems to want it but is becoming dependent on it in quite an unhelpful way. My first didn’t have one so this is all new territory. I wouldn’t mind her having it for comfort but the constant dropping it and then waking isn’t really doing that.

Also please no hate on this. I just find it more frustrating than helpful!

Our toddler was in fact attached to his dummie they was best friends I dreaded doing it but what we done is, just take them away so he had like 10 dummies and we put them all away part from 2 and he was only allowed them during nap and bedtimes
But everytime he asked me for one I'd just distract him, be like oh look at this toy or just do something and in the end was like oh we don't need that do we
And after about a week he stopped asking for it
But its not easy

Mine is exactly the same it drives me crazy!! Swaddling had helped as her arms were a part of the problem. She does still knock it out from time to time but much better than it was.

Mine is the same and it drives us all insane!!! It’s like he wants comfort so we give it to him but then he spits it out. It’s a constant battle so I don’t bother with it sometimes and just try cuddle him or hold his hand and it seems to settle him

How old is your little one? With my first we just went cold turkey at 4 months and within 48 hrs she had totally forgotten about it. But i think it might be a longer process the older they are. My youngest is 2 months and is less dependent on it, I think I might do the same again soon.
