MIL issues

So my baby is EBF and he is only 7 weeks old on friday. Every facetime, phone call or visit she goes on about taking him home with her and talks about when she will have him over night etc. Recently my partner mentioned adding formula for some of the babys feeds I said why he is gaining weight fine there is no need and it may mess up his belly as he isn't used to it he brought this up 2 or 3 times I was confused why he even said it. Then when my MIL called she said the same thing and said when will he be going onto formula so i can have him over night at my house. I WAS FURIOUS. Am I in the wrong I told her he won't be going onto formula unless medically necessary and even if he was I wouldn't be comfortable him staying out until hes abit older. Am I in the wrong????

Oh my! I absolutely don’t think you’re in the wrong. He is your baby, and he’s still so little. It’s completely understandable that you want him close to you, especially if you’re breastfeeding. ❤️ And honestly, you’re doing such a wonderful job. From my own experience, formula was hard on my baby’s tummy, and I really wish I hadn’t needed to supplement, but my milk didn’t come in until he was almost two months old.
I would just say to trust your instincts, keep your boundaries clear with your mother-in-law, and don’t feel guilty for wanting your baby close. You’re his mom, and you know what feels right for you and your baby. ❤️

I suggest you and your partner get on the same page and be a united front so he can support you and your baby when stuff comes up with his mom. He should be the intermediary between you and his mom. My son is 18 mos and will not be spending the night anywhere but with us until we say so. You make the rules for your baby. Period. And EBF if you can is awesome and noone should ever pressure you to stop if thats what works for you and your baby. Would it help to provide facts to your partner about the benefits of breast feeding and how important his support is? Because it's hard even with the best of circumstances- you need support not hindrance!

No. I personally think its super weird for grandparents to want their grandchildren to have a sleep over before baby is eating an only solid food diet. I get wanting to spend time with your grandchild, but why overnight?

My inlaws watched my son overnight for two nights when he was 7 months old because I asked if they could so my husband and I could go out for our anniversary. But they have never asked to watch him overnight, my parents havent either. And even at that age I was worried about him and about it messing up his sleep schedule or it causing my milk production to go down since I had to pump the whole weekend and I wasnt very good at it.

I would be furious to if someone was trying to force me to go to formula so that they could have my baby overnight, especially with a new baby, id just be worried sick about him and be super anxious and not be able to get any sleep till he was back in my sight.

Just don’t speak to her for a while and if your husband can’t put you and your kids first and stop listening to his mom then yall need to have a serious talk because it won’t stop until you do

Plan B or no?

Please I know I’m a dumb ass so let me just say that. My husband included. I’m 6 weeks post partum, ok to have sex again. My husband and I proceeded to have sex last night for the first time again and he did not pull out. He didn’t mean to because immediately after he realized he messed up. In his defense, we have never pulled out BUT that’s also why we have to kids close in age. However, we are done having kids and I’m going to be tying my tubes. Yes he’s still a jack ass for that and so am I.

Point is man, should I take a plan B or what should I do? :(

Finding out I’m pregnant again 5months postpartum…

So around 5 weeks ago I found out I am pregnant again. My baby is nearly 6 months now and when the second is born she will be around 13/14 months old I’m absolutely terrified as she was a c section baby and I know I’m probably going to have another c section….
She is breast fed also …

Has anyone else out there been through this already having 2 under 2 year olds, how hard is it??

any one got suggestions about stopping breast feeding before birth so second baby can have the boobs exclusively or should I start pumping and just give bottle breast milk to older child and the new born? Just looking for advice and suggestions really…

Baby boys playing with babies

What’s everyone’s opinions on boys playing with baby dolls. My little boy who’s 10 months loves playing with his baby dolls and my dad (baby’s granddad) said he shouldn’t be and he should be playing with “boys toys” I told him it will make him more caring and he will grow up to be the best dad himself. He really disagrees

4:30am wake up for cereal and tantrums

2 nights in a row now, he’s woken up from
Co sleeping with us (he’s had two weeks of being sick and just wanted to keep an eye on him) he’s woken up at 4:30am screaming like he’s in pain and pointing to our stairs. We found out he’s doing that because he is hungry….. any tips on to avoid this 4am wake up session to eat?

Also tantrums. How are we handling them? He’s only 16 months old and he’s throwing fits like he is 2, with little stompies and backing up, can’t tell if he is in pain but he’s been chomping on his fingers more lately and apparently holding his jaw according to my sister, so I’m thinking he’s teething and that’s causing him to wake and scream constantly.

Navigating politics as a mother

Has anyone really struggled meeting mum friends because of political concerns? I have always been very left wing ( pro palestine , supporting trans/gay rights , anti racism) and even more so after having a baby because I feel like i’m even more passionate to have a kind world for our children . I get a little worried when i meet other mums at baby groups that i’ll find out they’re actually right wing or against a lot of the morals i hold and i wouldn’t be able to keep that around my child . Not sure if it’s normal to feel so strongly about politics around my baby.
But also if it makes me uncomfortable then that’s also an issue i guess ?
