Cracked nipples after pumping

I had just made a post a couple days ago for not getting any colostrum out… well I got a whole 1ml syringe abu
Out the same amount from both boobs! BUUTTT… The first time I pumped from my left boob blood came out … I did not keep it (was only a tiny bit )because it looked more blood than colostrum and got like 0.2 ml out of my right boob with no complications or cracks. I pumped a couple hours later then got a whole 1ml syringe with no blood at all from either side … and today I checked my nipples and my left one just looked cracked like I opened up new milk holes? And some normal crack lines from the pumping and right boob is fine… I’ve been moisturizing and have not pumped again but I don’t wanna loose that supply… is it normal to still pump with a cracked nipple? Or should I give a day or 2?? Or wait til it heals? I also have an OB appt coming up on the 25th

You can pump with a cracked nipple and it's encouraged to continue pumping or feeding with a cracked nipple if your baby is here to protect your supply and prevent engorgement. As you are still pregnant, you can afford to take a break and let it heal. Nipple cream can be helpful, so can hydrogel patches.
Hand expressing is a much gentler way of collecting colostrum while you are waiting for it to heal.
Thinking about why it cracked, have you had your pump flanges fitted? If your flanges do not fit correctly they can cause nipple damage and your pump potentially won't be as efficient at draining your milk. Let me know if you'd like more information on this.

I’m guessing maybe the sizing for your flanges are off a little try a lactation consult you can usually get it covered by your insurance if you have any 💕

I would be careful pumping while you are still pregnant. It can make you go into labor. This would be a good time to find a lactation consultant though since you are so close.

Tilting the Next to Me

Does anyone have any advice? My midwife recommended tilting our next to me slightly to help with my baby’s mucous issue however the health visitor really advised against it - but annoyingly tilting it worked? Baby is 3 weeks old and refusing to lie on his back flat as he just wakes up straight away 🥴🫠

Is it bad that my son is not the centre of my universe

We are 6 weeks in with my little boy. I adore him, he brings a smile face whenever I look at him.
However I do not think he is the centre of my universe.
I am a planet with multiple suns and my son is one of them perhaps one of the bigger ones but he is not the only sun in my life.

Is this unusual to say and feel ?

Naps

So far I've had a relatively easy time as a first time mam, but at 11 weeks my little girl has started having predictable 2hr cycles of maybe a 10-15mins of waking happy, playful, then nappy, feed, followed by screaming and crying until she's back to sleep. It seems like she just wants to be asleep all the time. But it takes a combination of darkness, quiet, white noise or boob to be able to get her off. My whole days seem to be fighting her to help her sleep. Is this normal and how long does this phase usually last? 🙈

Is there a difference in intelligence between formula fed and breast fed

Apparently breast fed are more clever and hit their milestones early is this true ???
