Giving you my honest experience, sorry but I wish I had this information. Don't do it unless there is something wrong (not simply because you're overdue). I had mine last Tuesday and had a slow painful labour, got to 7cm and ended up having an emergency c section on the Friday morning because I was exhausted after contracting without pain relief because labour ward was understaffed and the induction ward wouldn't let me use gas and air. Tuesday I had balloon catheter that got me to 3cm and popped out, then I had propess ribbon on the Wednesday that got me to 4cm but induced labour is more taxing on the body and often times results in emergency c section like mine. I was willing to keep going with vaginal and use forceps if needs be but the epidural didn't work on me and after all the things done to my body for days, my baby got distressed and had to be delivered asap.

I had the rods in from 2pm Sunday and taken out 5am Monday and they were able to break my water at 1pm, I got gas and air when they did everything which I didn’t expect so that was good! After 2 hours nothing happened but they said I could wait another 2 hours because it was my second baby but I didn’t have the patience so I then had the oxytocin drip which then brought the contractions on pretty quick and she was born 3 hours later! They were a lot more painful but I’ve heard you can have an epidural straight away which I didn’t realise so I would definitely recommend that, by the time I decided I wanted one I was pushing her out, I’d say it was positive even though it was way more painful x

Both my pregnancy’s have led to an induction and honestly loved the experience. I know there is a lot of hate around them but I’d do it again in a heart beat. My first I was already 3cm so they broke my waters and started me on a drip and the total time was 6 hours. I had morphine during this labour so don’t remember a lot about it. My second was 2 weeks ago and I was 1/2cm and the used the pessery which was inserted at 11am started feeling minor contractions at about 4pm and at 1:50am they checked me again and I was 4cm but my waters were bulging so as we walked into the labour room to break my waters I felt like I needed to push and started at 2:09am he was here. My total recorded labour was 24mins. He was born in his sack and did tear quite badly but mainly due to how fast I went. All of the tears have almost fully healed. Obviously I know not everyone will experience it like this but I loved induction xx

My induction was booked for 1 August. Kings called me around 4 pm and asked me to come in at 7 pm. When I arrived, my cervix was completely closed, hard and very high, so they inserted a Propess. As I live only 10 minutes from Kings, they gave me the option to go home, so I chose to sleep at home and was discharged around 1 am.
I started having contractions around 3 am on 2 August. They continued throughout the day and became regular and very painful by around 5 pm, so I called the hospital and went back. My cervix was still closed but had become softer and was starting to come down. I used gas for the pain.
Around 1 am on 3 August, the Propess was removed and they inserted Dilapan. This stopped the contractions for a while and allowed me to rest, although inserting it was quite painful because my cervix was still very high.
My waters broke at 6 am. I waited until around 10 am for the shift change to finish and my partner bring my breakfast.

I had to be induced at 39 weeks for reduced movement but would have left him to arrive naturally in an ideal world.
I think being induced makes it seem like there is a level of control when actually, anything can happen and change the direction. I was 4cm already so could go straight to having my waters broken.
But, there is so much waiting around involved as they can’t progress you unless there is a labour suit free which is dependent on other inductions and spontaneous labours. That’s something to mentally prepare for and i wish I had slept in that time, but I was naively too excited.
They eventually broke my waters although it turned out my baby’s head plugged the entrance and part of the sac hadn’t broken. So I contracted for 6 hours and remained at 4cm 🥲 so I then got an epidural and the oxytocin drip. From when they broke my waters the first time to birth it was 14 hours, 2 hours pushing. 35 hours from when I arrived to start the process.
I was told at my 32 week scan they found a second placenta. The first is anterior high. When I had my scan the sonographer said the second one was very low and posterior. She said it was wrapped around the bottom and completely covering the front.
The notes just say posteriorly so I’m a little confused. I spoke with the triage team who said to wait until my next scan where they will measure to see where it is and if it’s covering or close to the cervix I will need a c-section at 36 weeks.
My next scan I will be 36 +2 days so that won’t be helpful! I will go into the hospital tomorrow am for clarification but didn’t know if anyone else has experienced this and what to expect.
My mother in law is coming to stay with us when I would be 41 weeks and my partner has booked 2 weeks off work before she comes. Obviously times won’t work out now but will I be ok, home alone if he takes the first 2 weeks off and
I have no other help before mother in law comes?

I need some advice.
My friend recently told me she was pregnant. About a week or two later, she called me really upset because she thought she might have had a miscarriage, as she'd started bleeding. She had a scan booked for two days later.
On the morning of the scan, I messaged her to ask if she'd had it yet and to wish her all the best. At that point she said she hadn't had the scan yet, so I told her I was praying for her.
I haven't heard anything since. I completely understand that it's private and none of my business, but I also can't stop thinking about her. I don't want to message again and make her feel like I'm prying.
Part of me thinks that if she wanted me to know the outcome, she would have told me already. But another part of me worries that she might just be struggling and not know what to say.
What would you do? Would you send another message just to check in, or would you wait until she tells you when she's ready?
Hubby said I should just leave it if she wanted me to know she would hv told me the outcome .

Did anyone have a planned c-section but still feel traumatised after? All I see is people saying how calm & relaxed they felt but I was absolutely terrified. I couldn’t eat for 2 weeks after birth due to shock! I just want to know if anyone else feels the same as it’s a lonely feeling.

When I was 19 I had a miscarriage, I was only 5 weeks pregnant so very early on.
it’s not something many people know about, my mum knows as she was there with me while It happened and looked after me for the duration of it. 8 months later I fell pregnant with my daughter. She’s 4 now.
The other day my daughter and I are talking and she randomly goes ‘mummy I have a big sister’ I didn’t think anything of it at the time so I just said ‘oh do you darling’ she then goes ‘yeah I have a big sister and she protected me’. My mum was round at the time and we both looked at each other like ‘what’ ..
I then had a weird feeling I said to my daughter ‘how do you know that’ she just shrugged her shoulders and said ‘just do’ and then she walked off with her toys and never mentioned it again. At first I was so confused but then i thought about my miscarriage.
I can’t help but think does my daughter actually know something. I never found out the gender obviously as it was so early on but it is possible she could have had a big sister. Or is it her just talking random childhood rubbish, I mean we all know kids can come out the most bazaar nonsense sometimes . I don’t know really , what do you think. I just thought it was a strange thing for her to just come out with.
