How do other people feed their family healthy options, on a budet and dont kill them selves doing it? I've been meal prepping on Sundays, and it's brutal. It usually takes 4-5 hours, and I'm totally exhausted at the end. I feel like I need to in order for the week to go by smoother, but Sundays destroys me. For context, my husband and I both work full time and our 2 year old goes to daycare. The toddler has a food allergy, so I have to pack her breakfast, lunch and snack for shool. I also make my husband lunch because if I didnt he just wouldn't eat and I meal prep my work lunch because same and my work day is just too busy these days. Sundays I usually prep for 3 large meals that we can eat throughout the week.
There's still 10-15 min each night to throw the rest of the dinner together. If I dont meal prep, the mornings are insane, im just exhausted meal prepping, and I feel prepping, planning and cooking is all i do. We eat mainly organic and try not to eat alot of processed foods. Like I know I'm doing too much but I want myself and my family to be healthy. Also we are spending $200-$300 week on groceries. Is that normal this all feels insane but I dont know any different. How do other people feed their families?
Im greatful I can feed my family and we work really hard to be able to afford this budget. Just looking for tips and to hear what other moms do?

Hey 👋🏽 dealing with meal prepping can be overwhelming. What I tend to do is to meal prep but freeze per portion and take it out the day before so it just need re heating and I don’t have to cook for like 2 weeks!
Ps : we are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids.

I've been getting Stocked meals and they've super helped when we've been in a pinch. If you're UK based, they even got specific kids meals. Not break the bank either.

We meal prep on the weekends as well but try to break up all the steps and I take some “shortcuts” where I can. Our meals are fairly simple, a protein, a starch, a veggie. I’ll use frozen veggies to avoid too much chopping prep or bagged broccoli slaw if we’re making an Asian inspired meal. We also eat the same breakfast, lunch, and dinner all 5 days of the week but that doesn’t bother us! I think it’s really a matter of deciding what short cuts you’re willing to make to save you time. We also grocery shop Saturday and try to prep 1 meal on Saturday and the other 2 Sunday and we split the cooking so it doesn’t feel like a massively daunting task

I stole this meal plan from someone online but basically we eat the same meal on the day day every week week after week. So spaghetti on Mondays tacos on Tuesdays hotdish on Wednesday. We eat that every week until we get sick of a meal and we sub in a new meal. Im stay at home so the prep demand is different for me but what I found with this is shopping ends up being cheap and faster you can often buy it more in bulk. At first it seemed like we would get sick of it really fast but we have alway eaten pizza on friday and never gotten sick of it. The trick is little to no leftovers so you dont spend a whole week finish a meal. But doing something like that its easier to buy in bulk and prep it all once a month. Another option is to just start prep double or triple batches od something for the freezer. Its fast and easier then making 30 different meals.

I dont meal prep. Breakfast is always steel cut oats with nut butter, flaxseeds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds and fruit. Its super low effort and filling. Lunch is always leftovers. Dinner i make fresh daily and usually takes 30-45 minutes. We do spend about 200-300 per week on groceries but much less in the summer months with our garden and CSA. When i cook dinners that i know would freeze well, i double the recipe and freeze half. That builds a stash for busy days. I also keep healthy muffins and energy bites in the freezer for quick snacks
I know this is a common "issue" after having kids but I'm struggling and my husband has opened up to me few times about it after having our second ( almost 1.5yrs old). He says he hates having to ask and he hates my reluctance when we are intimate. We currently have sex once a week and he asks every 2-3 days. I'm a stay at home mom and I am with our 2 children 24/7. They have never been watched by another person. My 1.5yr old wakes throughout the night still and has really rough nights when he's teething. I'm touched out, exhausted, and feel like im losing myself. I love my husband to death but I have a hard time being affectionate and ive always struggled with this.
He works 5 days a week, sometimes less if the weather is bad as he does manual labor outdoors. Because he works, I have a hard time asking him for help at home. I feel really guilty. As a result, I have mental breakdowns occasionally.
I do the laundry, dishes, cleaning, and most meals.
He does dinner a couple times a week, and baths once a week to every other week.
I moved with him to his home state so I have no friends or family (besides his). I am home all week, every week as we only have 1 vehicle which he takes to work. We do grocery shopping on the weekends as a family which is the only time I get away from the house. I also have to admit that he has started back up on some old habits that turn me off, so im struggling to want to initiate because of that.
I know I need more breaks and to leave the house more but does anyone have any other advice to help improve that area of concern?

My husband 'accidentally' binned and washed my sourdough starter. I can't believe it was an accident because its nearly a year old, it has literally been sitting in our kitchen for a year! He says I left it near the sink so he just assumed it was to get washed out. I had just baked this morning and had left it near the sink, but not at the sink if that makes sense. We have a designated area that dishes usually get left before they get cleaned and it was nowhere near there.
Also he claims he didn't know what it was. He has seen me make bread a billion times. He has eaten the bread a billion times. It had been sitting on the kitchen counter for a year! 🥴 I said to him he should have asked if he wasn't sure instead of just assuming I wanted to get rid of it, but his excuse is he didn't know I was using it/or what it was and I hadn't even thanked him for cleaning up after me. I was going to clean up, but we had two children who I was also tending to at the same time.
I know I can make another one but it's just annoying, I was proud of myself for keeping it this long and it was a really great starter. I also feel like he's done it on purpose because we have been arguing a lot lately about who does what in the house. We both work, but I WFH part time so it seems to him that I'm just home all the time doing 'nothing'. We have a 1yo and a 4yo, 4yo goes to nursery in the mornings and 1yo goes to granny's, I work 4hrs every morning and then I pick up both kids and have them for the rest of the day. I do all the meals, all the cleaning, all the laundry, all the extracurricular activities, all the shopping, manage our bills. My husband works full time 9-5, comes home, he helps with bath time and bedtime and acts as if he's done it all. It drives me insane.

So my partner used to work in a bar. But he quit because of me. Months later he just text me sayin his boss text him sayin they are short staffed and could he do a one off this weekend. I said I was not happy at all about this. As I know it will just be full of drunk girls flirting. What do I do??

I just had an occupational therapy home visit and the lady watched how she was for an hour and a bit n she jist keot saying how risky her behaviour is, shows no understanding, breaks out of everything and climbs everything and strong and agressive and she suggested if i need a cuppa tea or I want to take 5 mims without being attacked, jumped on or being there with her with my arms out ready to catvh her next impulse or injury then i should. She said even put her in it to watch tv whilst you do what ever ypu need to do. She has a condition that means her walking outside isnt good and flares up and she can get stiff but other than that she is the most hyperactive, strongest most impulsive child that cannot stay still, engage in any play or calm down at all she is destructive and agressive and thats ehy it was said. What would you do? Right now she is like it from 6am until 9pm and throughout the night too.she also has a safety bed she can escape. She has no speech and no understanding like 0
