Boyfriends family

My boyfriends family keep getting in his head about me being a stay at home mom. Him and I both agreed this is what we wanted because we dont want to send the baby to daycare. His family is making it a big deal about him bringing in the only income. My boyfriend makes more than enough to support us so we are not struggling at all. Anyone else dealing with this situation and how do you deal with it. Its messing with me mentally and makes me feel horrible on a daily basis.

I just started this path after having my second and ending a career. My husband was staying at home forst with our first child until we made plans to switch. Hell go back to work after hes had a little break[he was the breadwinner from start of relationship. But i always wanted to keep an independence of som sort so i did a part time job.] Few years and 2 under4 kidslater im home. Its a hard adjustment the way yhe flow is for me personally . I have a judgemental family that just earns that title with their approaches to new faces. Iv had friends and boyfriends including my husband and yet theyre in my ear about them. It doesnt make sense to tell them anything anymore because they would still choose their own view rather than investigate and ask directly.
You do what works for you to get the job done. Community has importance but it needs healthy connection and respected boundaries. Waiting until your baby can tell uou if somethings wrong is perfect time they can go to school. Sahp have a goldem opportunit

*opportunity, theres a world to explore again with them and for them. And without the 4 walls that has its own system to teach. You can still show them quite a lot and theyll get to know themselves so well they can calibrate their own system of learning and self love...amomg other things.

Same girl but i just let them talk because at the end of the day it aint their business to know everything they dont pay our bills 🤷‍♀️ not just that but they always gonna have something to talk about ... dont let it get to you as long as yall are on the same page thats all that matters not others opinions

Maybe none of them know this path. And unknown cam shake a persons confidence. Is this they path you want and are willing to go through. You know why you know how. And you will be diligent. Whats the fuss if anyone else says something different. Concerned input is valid to consider within your bounds but it is not an order nor some law. We're in a new age where we just need to look forward and keep going with what we said we would do and watch the changes the world gets to see again. For the better as is always the end goal. For the better

Srry to blow up like this

My husband had to put my MIL in her place about it and she was a SAHW and SAHM since getting married. She kept saying things like he’ll be too burnt out provided etc. and I shouldn’t ask him to take on that responsibility. In reality, she didn’t think he was capable of it and doesn’t view being a mechanic as a career that provides. 2 years in, I have no need to work still and she’s shut up.

They apparently think him making 100k a year isnt enough for 3 people???? We think we can live comfortably on that.

Avatar

Are they annoyed that it means you don’t need to ask them to babysit?

Avatar

Why do they have a say in your private life. Boundaries should be set...

You’re doing what’s best for your daughter and your family. Never apologize for that!! They should want what’s best for her too

Guilt over leaving children so late

Hi all - it’s 4am and I’m crying over feeling guilty for leaving children so late in life (40). It’s my biggest regret, but it wouldn’t have been the right time for me any earlier. My baby is 6 months.

I’m feeling guilt that my child potentially will only have me until their 40s, maybe 50. That I’ll leave this earth while he still needs his mother. I’m being stupid because I can’t do anything about it.

Anybody in the same boat with any words of wisdom?

Partners

Does anybody else / has anybody started to resent their partner?
We have 2 babies 11 months apart, he does 4 on 4 off at work, (2 days & 2 nights) anyway, I’ve started to not like him being around him or anything. For the fact of I do everything for the kids with no help.. he never gets up with them, brings them out for the day, lets me have a break even for a few hours.. I can’t remember the last time I was able to breath on my own 😆. (Btw I love being a mam!) but it would be nice to have a little help.. I feel like a single mum in a relationship with there dad 😆

Tired and alone

My husband and I have a 6 month old and both work full time on opposite schedules. We dont get a lot of time together, so I thought that when he came home early, we would hang out, I would get a little break before having to watch the baby the rest of the night so he can do work stuff. So why does he spend the majority of the time we have very little of, to lay in bed and look at his phone. Over an hour. That could have been spent with his wife and child. I just dont want to have to ask to be seen. I want him to want to spend his time with us, not because I ask him to. If he doesn't think of us, are we really that important to him in the first place? If I have to ask him to hang out with me, what's the point of him even being here for the extra couple hours that we got? I dont know. Am i reading too much into this?

Does it irritate anyone else when working mums pull the "you're so lucky" or "must be nice" card?

I know this is petty but I have this one friend that is forever going on about how lucky I am, how nice it must be, and making envious comments about me staying home. I get it, I am lucky in some respects, but I also made a lot of sacrifices, and my job is hard too. I made the choice I did because I genuinely believed it was the best thing for me and my baby, but my god is it difficult, and I can't help but feel like she's minimising that. I've worked hard to get to the point where I could stay home, and it's not like I'm going to brunch and doing pilates over here either. Maybe I'm just being bitchy, but it does rub me the wrong way.

I want another baby🥺

So I have a 1yr old little boy and due another in December. The age gap was a lot smaller than what we had in mind originally but of course went along with it and we’re so excited for our next baby. However. When we found out we were having another so soon both me and my partner said this would be it as it’s such a short space and of course will take up our next few years!
But.
I can’t help but feel sad about this being my last pregnancy. I don’t want it to be. I’ve hinted and joked about having another in the future and my partner positively shuts it down and says we’re not having anymore. I know I haven’t had this one yet but I can just feel that I’m not done, however I’d never want to force that onto my partner either. I’m 27 in April and didn’t want anymore babys after 30 originally so do you think maybe he could change his mind over time? 2 under 2 is a lot to process especially when it wasn’t the plan but I feel like once things are settled and we’re into routine I see no reason why not 🥹☹️😅
