I am feeling like such a terrible mom. My girl is extremely fussy, wont stay down much for a nap & isn’t eating normal. Yesterday she was up for 4 hours tried a car ride, contact nap, swing nap, bassinet snoo nothing worked! Its been a couple days & I feel helpless. I never went through this with my first- he was happy so much as I was holding him. I’m in such a panic state.

Just saw this come up in my feed. Just to reassure you - my daughter was like that, staying up for 3-4hrs at a time as a newborn which went against everything the internet says is normal. But there’s a bigger range of normal than what Huckleberry etc will ever say. Look up low sleep needs. She will settle into a rhythm eventually I promise. My LG is now 4 and totally fine, she’s just always needed less sleep than average

You are doing great! She is probably going through a growth spurt. My daughter did at 6 weeks and she also stayed up for 4 hrs one of those days and it scared me so much.h daughter is fine lol I just used some gripe water, did skin to skin and only did contact naps (I still do haha).

My baby is the same way. She was up from 12-4 am until she was 4 weeks old. Now she is 7 weeks and doing a bit better but she will only do contact naps and we co-sleep at night. I have never been able to put her in the crib or bassinet.

So I literally just got back from my daughter’s doctor. And she told me week 6 is PEAK fussiness for anything to do with baby’s digestive system: colic, gas, reflux, even them getting overstimulated can cause them to be confused with an upset tummy. She recommended probiotic drops if I wanted try them, and just making sure to keep baby girl upright to help relieve gas. But other than that it’s just kind of a waiting game as long as it doesn’t get worse.

I would talk to your doctor. My baby was the same and it ended up being severe reflux and cows milk protein allergy.

Switching to SAHM life

Hi Mamas, I am switching from working mom life to SAHM life this fall. Specifically it will be at the end of October. My son is 17 months now and will be 19 months when I am fully stay-at-home parenting.

Picture shared of my little guy trying on sunglasses as tax :)

1. What unexpected advice would you give me for this period now while I am still employed?
2. How would you handle the daycare to stay at home switch for my son's sake? 1 week of 3-4 days at day care, 1 week of 1-2 days, and then done? Slower transition?
3. On the scale of super regimented routine to absolute chaos, each day is different -- where are you? Is it by choice? What works and doesn't work with that style? Some moms swear by chaos and others swear by routine.
4. For moms who have made the switch when their little one was between 1 and 2, please tell me all the good, bad, and ugly about the switch.
5. We have a zoo pass and a museum pass (both gifts). What other kid friendly passes do you recommend?
6. What is the financial life saver trick that you swear by as a SAHM?
7. If anyone wants to be my SAHM mentor, please message me... I'm excited but nervous!

Best way to handle?

Got the below text from my babysitter. We're trying to work on potty training, but what is the best way to handle this, without him having to wear long pants since we live in Florida and it's HOT down here! He's 26 months and I also have a 7 month old that she watches during the day

Help. I spanked my toddler.

I didn’t mean to, it was on impulse and I feel terrible. I was trying to change her diaper and she was thrashing and kicking me. Next thing I knew, I smacked her bare butt. She’s 20 months old and I know the behaviors that have been irritating me are normal for her age. I’ve had such a short fuse and been short on patience this last week and I don’t know how to fix it. I’m looking for any advice. I don’t want to treat her this way or be this kind of mom.

Childcare tax free

I’m sorry to be annoying but I just don’t understand childcare tax free account on the gov website. My boy is due to start nursery next week and I’d like to take advantage of the tax free but I just don’t understand it.

Could someone please spare some time to explain it to me please?

Thank you

starting solids

Hi guys! My baby is 4.5 months and i was wondering on whether or not to starts solids. Whenever me and my partner are eating she’s constantly focused on the food. She also puts anything from her hands to her mouth. Do you think I could start giving her purees like avocado?
