Hey, have they only just mentioned this now at 37 weeks? (Just seems a little late)
My LGs head was measuring small throughout pregnancy (from 20 weeks), I went for multiple scans and tests. But when she was born her head was ‘normal’ so not sure how much faith I have in the scans now if I’m honest but I suppose it will depend on each individual situation x

It is not uncommon for head/brain abnormalities to become more visible later because the brain typically triples in weight in the 3rd trimester.
I’m sorry as this must be so scary for you, but as many as 1/3-1/2 of babies with a microcephaly diagnosis actually end up being born with a normal sized head and no issues.
Did they say how much below normal it is measuring? Although that is hard to tell for sure either.
There is still hope. Ultrasounds are great at ruling out microcephaly but not the best at diagnosing it.
Again I’m so sorry that you’re having to play the waiting game.
Did they say anything about healthy brain anatomy? If so that’s a good sign. Also some people just genetically have smaller heads.
