We have been told by my daughter’s nursery that the monthly fees are going to jump from 141 a month to 503 a month after 30 hours funding (and before tax free childcare). This is such a huge jump! I queried why, and it’s because the government pay less per hour apparently for over 2 year olds. But now I’m looking online it’s because of the staff ratio is less. Has anyone else had this experience or is it just our nursery?

Learn more about our guidelines.**Not sure it makes sense what I’ve said - the nursery said they get less per hour per child hence the increase in nursery fees, but really the staff ratio is less so there shouldn’t be much change right?

Unless your nursery is choosing to keep the higher staff ratio (not supported by the government minimum) at which point you are covering the extra staff?

Our nursery fees went up at 2, not that drastically though. They’ll also go up again at 3 x

I’ve never heard of that. Our nursery is the same price for everyone regardless of age.

Ours went up at two and then we're going to be LOADS more at 3 so we moved to a free pre school which he loves. It makes no sense but some charge more as they get less funding and some choose to spread the cost over the ages. Anyway, I'd look at other options if you can make it work!
Good afternoon Mamas , I would like to know your baby’s experiences at nursery’s , as I’m struggling with Anxiety, I have a 1 y6 months toodler and I would love put her for just 3 hours 2 days a week just to have contact with other kids so it’s good for her wellbeing , but I’m having difficulties , as I’m a SUPER PROTECTIVE mum , I know that it’s good for my mental health too ! I will really appreciate ✨🤎 thank you

My partner doesn’t seem to enjoy my company like he used to I feel. I’ve been going through a lot lately with plans, our daughter, I’m trying to get back into shape, taking care of the house and keeping him happy. Not to mention I’ve been trying to be involved in planning for my sisters Bridal shower and wedding. Lately I’ve just lost control and I’ve had an attitude with him because I feel a little resentment. When we go out I’m always busy taking care of the baby while he has fun. I’m always home but I’m always busy, he comes home and does what ever he wants to do but I’m always catering to him and taking care of things around the house. He tells me that these things can wait, but if any of you know, if you fall behind on house chores they get waaaay too out of control and it’s hard to catch up.. Am I being the victim?? Do I just have a victim mindset?? I just want him to notice the things I do.
I noticed something the other day, that he remembered that I promised sex because I was too tired. I said that I’d make it up to him and I did. He remembered that because he reminded me TWICE.. But I can ask him 3 times to clean the beer cans off the back porch and clean out the coolers and he doesn’t do it.
All he has to do when he comes home is take out the trash and clean up his messes he makes. He can’t even do that.. when I try talking to him about it he turns it around on me. It happens every time and I’m always the one apologizing.
Please I need help, just come words of advice of just something to say to him. I’m really running out of things to say nicely. I’m struggling to speak for myself and communicate and it’s coming out in frustration and attitude.

Hello ladies. I am scheduled to travel alone with my son this October on a 14 hour flight.
Looking for tips specifically on below:-
- navigating airport. I suppose it’s not possible to bring a cabin trolley luggage since I have to push a stroller at the same time. How to pack baby essentials?
- on flight - the flight will take off at 9pm. What time should I put my son to sleep? What do I entertain him on a 14 hour flight?
- any other thoughts / recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

So My son basically has Disney movies and credits playing in the background of his playing and daily life most of the day till it dies and he gets another one and I figured this is bad and way too much but she said it wasn’t because he’s not glued to it and still plays alongside it unlike most kids she see “iPad kid” and I thought my kid was an iPad kid. Idk anymore honestly my brain hurts from today

Hi looking for some mum advice!
My little boy has his 12 month jab today and my husband is on annual leave for the next two weeks and wants to book a holiday for us to go away.
I’m nervous anyway as will be first abroad holiday but now hearing stories about the side effects of the jabs and wondering whether the timing is awful for my little boy.
Would you go on holiday (Spain most likely) in the days after the 1 year jabs or is that just asking for trouble?
