C-section recovery

Hey girls, I had a c section last Tuesday so I’m currently on day 3 of recovery and I do not know how to cope. I feel like I can’t do anything, move , laugh, cough and it’s absolutely horrible. I had a mental breakdown when I first got home today from the hospital as I just felt so useless and in so much pain. I’ve had everything checked over and it’s completely healthy I just think it’s all in the brain. Any tips? As I think I’m losing my mind

Have you been keeping on top of your painkillers? Do not stop taking them, makes a big difference!

Also one thing I remember so clearly, it is CRAZY how different (better) you can feel from one day to another after a c section. Right now you’re in the thick of it and I know it feels like you’ll never recover but I promise it gets better everyday! X

Honestly I was the same and thought I was a failure. Im now 3 months pp and all I can say is keep on top of pain meds every 4 hrs and just take it easy

100 per cent normal. It gets easier week to week. I didnt see a way out of feeling awful then all of a sudden the pain goes. Im 8 weeks on driving and going on walks again. You have got this .... keep on top of meds. Keep talking and sharing. A c section is a massive deal. Be kind to yourself xx

I’m one day ahead of you, had a c section early Monday morning, and yesterday was sooo much harder than today. Def agree with all the comments, keep taking your meds, and accept all help offered - you do not need to be straining yourself at all. My husband got me an old lady cane so I can lever myself up off the sofa or bed 😆

Same as all the tips above 🩷 go easy on yourself and keep taking your pain medication even if you think you don’t need it. By week 3 I was driving again (I checked my insurance and it was fine). I couldn’t believe how quickly I’d come on over those few weeks! You’ve got this x

Pain relief, moving little but often, rest as much as you can and do things in stages rather than all at once, pause when walking if you need to and when changing positions. You can try holding a pillow or something similar near the incision when coughing/sneezing, that helped me. Keep your fluid intake high and plenty snacks, your body needs the help from energy and rest. Be kind to yourself, you’ve just done an amazing thing (I’m 4 weeks pp now and pretty much back to normal)

I’m 8 month post CSection and as all these lovely commenters have said. Take the pain relief. Even on a day when you don’t feel so bad, take something. I made the mistake of having a good day- not taking anything that day and paid for it the next day! Also, I’ll be the commenter but if you’ve been given laxative than take it. Pain gets even worse if constipated. Also a little mindfulness for yourself- you have just had major abdominal surgery and feeling how you feel is perfectly normal. However, there will come a day in the near future where you will forget how you’re feeling now and just savour the memories of bringing your little bundle of joy into the world.

What some others have said keep on top of your pain killers. Also, I found with me personally my anxiety was worse during this period because all I was able to do was rest and I was not able to drive or even bend down for the first 2 weeks. I found watching shows, enjoying one on one time with my baby and leaning on the people close to me were the ways I got through it, especially if you find yourself feeling anxious in anyway remember it’s always ok to talk to someone

Ive had 3 C-sections. With my last two, I learned the tricks. When you need to sneeze, laugh, cough hold your lower stomach. If you have a pillow near by hug it and hunch over a bit. It helps to not let the skin stretch too much.

But definitely stay on top of the pain by taking the meds on a schedule. The first 2 weeks are usually the hardest. Sometimes it can even be the first month. Just depends how your body heals.

Definitely do not be constantly resting. Moving a little bit helps to strengthen your core muscles again. Gotta remember how many layers they cut through to get to your precious baby.

The more you move in spurts the easier it gets. You got this.

Am I wrong?

I am having a kids birthday party in a month and my sister wants to bring her new bf who is a coke head. I am inviting friends and their kids so I dont want some random man in my house. I told her no and now she is saying she is not coming. (She first tried to say she will just drop off a gift but I said no because I have had to explain to my kids since june why she has not seen their new house or seen them at all and I dont want to explain she is choosing a penis over her nephews)
