This is not a big “no no” according to science or traditional cultures. Studies show babies who cosleep safely have lower chances of SIDS and both mama and baby get better sleep. However, safely means you follow the “safe sleep seven” - you can google the whole list, but key in it are you breastfeeding the baby, mama sleeps on her side curled around the baby, and baby is not swaddled. Look up the work from Dr. Sears for more guidance and evidence based advice.

Co sleeping is amazing. My LO is 4 months and we've been 100% co sleeping for almost 2 months now. My sleep and baby's sleep has greatly improved, I can settle her back to sleep so much quicker and can side lie feed when she needs and I'm not getting up to feed. Yeah, be safe but it is definitely not as no no scary as modern day parenting says.

I co sleep with my 2.5 month old and can tell you it works great for us. No swaddle, we use a thin flannel sleep sack (her arms are free her legs are free but are just contained in the sack) then I sleep curled around her on my side while she’s on a foam flat pad. I try to put my head next to her head so I can hear her and boom lights out! No pillows around her but I’ll have my head on one.

For all the benefits I hear about co-sleeping, I would like to share another side to it and that is during my time as a funeral director solidified that I will not co-sleep with my baby because I did see families lose their sweet babies like this. That being said, one of my funeral director friends co-slept with all of her children. The warnings are there for a reason unfortunately.

I have been on and off co sleeping with my son since he was born. He is now almost 4 months. My husband and i have him either in between us or i have him on my other side. I love it but I also dont get much sleep cause Im a light sleeper so every sound and move he makes i wake up. But my son sleeps very well.

I co sleep with my 2 month old!! I just have no pillows and a light blanket only up to my waist and it’s also tucked into my mattress! I just have little one in a sleep sack so his arms are free. Then I sleep in a c shape. I usually have my son close but not right next to me. I have an owlet too for peace of mind 🙌🏼

Co-sleeping is okay and has lots of benefits. You just shouldn’t co-sleep with a swaddled baby x

I’ve co-slept with both babies 😊 my first from a few months old and my second from birth. We don’t own a cot! x

I co sleep too since baby was about a month, he always rested his head on my arm and we adjusted to that we still co sleep till this day he’s 9months but now he likes his space so he’ll go on his side hehe con id say is that when you adjust them to that they will no longer want to be in a bassinet or anything of that sort, my baby is also breastfed so I think since he is close by he wakes up all night to feed 🙂‍↕️

Cosleeping isn’t a big no no when done properly, intentionally and safely. Search the safe sleep seven.

Needing Advice

How did you get through newborn times and being alone? My postpartum anxiety has been crazy and when my baby cries I get so overwhelmed rn. In a week I am going to be alone as a SAHM and am feeling so nervous and unprepared for what’s to come. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also if any of you are pumping moms, how do you pump while caring for baby?

Scared of losing bond with my baby after daycare starts

13months. Going to daycare in about a month, and I already am not the favourite parent, she only wants me for comfort and bedtime. All about hubby during the day to play - when she was younger, she screamed at me all day but only smiled for her dad. I only got smiles like 9 months onwards.

She loves MIL more than anyone right now- at her baptism and various other special occasions I wanted to share with her, she was throat punching me to jump out of my arms into MIL’s arms. Our photos together at these events are all forced, and she’s crying. All her special moment photos are with MIL. To be fair, she doesnt want hubby either when MIL is around lol.

I am scared that when I start work and she goes to daycare, we will have even less time and she will care about me even less.

Anyone else deal with this? Daycare and already not being the favourite parent? My heart is crushed every weekend, when she spends time with my hubby and MIL. She doesnt look for me, and if I leave and come back she barely acknowledges when I return. My heart is already breaking

Sleep regression?

My LO has been going down between 21:00-22:00 for a while now and having between 6/7 hour stretches a night, Will feed and go straight back down. This week hes been going down earlier between 20:00-21:00 but waking every 2 or so hours crying, will feed and 9 times out of 10 go back off. Im unsure what to do? Continue with the later bedtime and get longer stretches or earlier bedtime an hope he goes longer throughout soon... also his daytime naps are one day he will nap great, next day 20 mins then fights sleep throughout the day 🤣

Help a girlie out...

Thank you 😊
