Overthinking

Any one else feel like sometimes their child is happier to see their dad? I was off on maternity leave for 5 months and my husband worked 7-7 . So I thought sometimes my son was so happy to see my husband because he rarely got to see him, compared to he sees me every waking moment. Now that I’m back to work though, I feel like he just has a bigger happier reaction when he sees his dad in the morning or when he comes home compared to seeing me . This may sound childish , but it just makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong .

Yup! My son tells his childminder he ‘misses daddy’ - despite seeing him and spending quality time with both of us every single day. I get hit in the face and told ‘go away mummy’… Just a mums life I think lol

Would you be okay with your partner behaving like this?

I’m going out tomorrow with friends, my partner and their partners for a bottomless brunch. I found a nice top to wear but my partner got angry and said I couldn’t wear it because I “don’t need to have my boobs out.” I then chose a square neck top but he pulled a face about that too so to keep the peace I’ve now settled on wearing a T-shirt.

I spoke to my friends and they’re all wearing lovely tops, including corset-style/square-neck tops. I asked my partner if I could wear something similar but he said I should wear something “respectable” and that the tops I showed him would “piss him off.”

Now I feel like I’m going to be really underdressed and I don’t know what I can wear that he’ll approve of.

He’s also said he doesn’t want other men looking at me but I can’t help feeling uncomfortable with that when I’ll be sitting there while he’s looking at other women who are wearing revealing clothes. I’ve tried talking to him but it just causes a row.

Am I being insane

(Forgot to make it a poll)

I keep thinking that if the roles were reversed, I would be such a better husband. I feel like I'm a lot more thoughtful than my husband, I get him small things from the store or a food he's been "craving" while I'm the one thats pregnant! I cook 100% of the time and clean 95%. I dont work so I guess he beats me on that. We have a 3 year old and only one car so I'm stuck with a baby while 7 months pregnant. When my husband comes home, he asks to take a nap, which I say yes nearly 100% of the time because I know how exhausted the day can make us. I just feel sad because I dont get offered a back massage or a foot massage. Like ever. Or a small gift. Or a "thanks for carrying my child!" Like I don't even feel pregnant and I feel a little taken advantage of.

He says he just forgets or doesnt think about me all the time and am I insane for being hurt by that??

Would you be annoyed at this reaction

We were at a children's party the other day (5 year olds) a little girl hit/pushed my daughter in the stomach ( I saw it and told the little girl "No you dont hit" she ran off.
My daughter was very upset.
About 40 minutes later the little girl ran over and said sorry to my daughter.
Her dad mum was there this time and asked me what she was saying sorry for I told her because she pushed my daughter in the stomach.
The mum just said " oh well thats what kids do at that age" and then carried on talking to someone else!
If that was me I would have apologized

Any other moms awake and cannot sleep at the moment?

Baby girl was born on Monday evening at 22.35 after a rather long, exhausting labour (she just didn’t want to come into the world that day)! We were discharged yesterday and have been home since, to be honest last night wasn’t even so bad. Today however, she’s been feeding almost all day (cluster feeding, sometimes for an hour and a half, other times for 10 min!) and since I’m breastfeeding I have some “cracking” problems, as well as latch and attachment issues, which the midwives will call me about tomorrow morning. We gave her formula a few times as well and she just seems constantly hungry, so I of course panic I don’t produce enough collostrum (milk hasn’t come in yet)!to keep her full. I’m sore all over, totally inlove with her and totally overwhelmed. Every time she cries, I cry and I constantly worry if she’s getting enough to eat. My husband is my absolute hero and rock and the best dad ever. I just feel..alone in the motherly feelings and hormones and emotions I’m going through and honestly don’t know how to not panic. Also, how to keep her warm enough? Different midwives told us different things and it’s all just so confusing. 😭
I apologize for the long post 😕 many mothers around offered advice and help, I just don’t feel like I can text them at 1.30am and melt down…

Toddler toys

My son just turned two and I’m looking for toys for him since he outgrew a few. He has a slide, swing bike so all outside toys you can think of. Now I’m trying to upgrade toys inside that will help with his development, imagination and keep him busy. We don’t really have a lot of room but if it’s a good toy we can make it fit. Or it doesn’t even need to be considered a toy it could be a table something I’m just very overwhelmed looking at toys for him and don’t know where to start. He’s into Spider-Man, Scooby doo, Mickey and loves to play with his spidey figures, playdoh, loves to use his target shopping cart and monster trucks/ cars.

Difficult babies and older siblings

Send help and advice please!

My 6 month old is a high maintenance baby. He does this awful constant whine if he’s not got attention or being stimulated which is incredibly stressful on its own. Add a 2 year old into the mix who also needs a lot of attention and stimulation, I feel like i’m drowning. My 2 year old is having behavioural issues (hitting, throwing etc.) because he’s not getting his energy out. Our days are spent in the house, as my 6 month old hates the pushchair and carrier. I feel so bad for my 2 year old, he has so much energy to get out and he’s not able to indoors. I don’t know what to do

Baby only sleeps 20 minutes at a time so we can’t get a good chunk of time to let that energy out
