Any other moms awake and cannot sleep at the moment?

Baby girl was born on Monday evening at 22.35 after a rather long, exhausting labour (she just didn’t want to come into the world that day)! We were discharged yesterday and have been home since, to be honest last night wasn’t even so bad. Today however, she’s been feeding almost all day (cluster feeding, sometimes for an hour and a half, other times for 10 min!) and since I’m breastfeeding I have some “cracking” problems, as well as latch and attachment issues, which the midwives will call me about tomorrow morning. We gave her formula a few times as well and she just seems constantly hungry, so I of course panic I don’t produce enough collostrum (milk hasn’t come in yet)!to keep her full. I’m sore all over, totally inlove with her and totally overwhelmed. Every time she cries, I cry and I constantly worry if she’s getting enough to eat. My husband is my absolute hero and rock and the best dad ever. I just feel..alone in the motherly feelings and hormones and emotions I’m going through and honestly don’t know how to not panic. Also, how to keep her warm enough? Different midwives told us different things and it’s all just so confusing. 😭
I apologize for the long post 😕 many mothers around offered advice and help, I just don’t feel like I can text them at 1.30am and melt down…

I’m so sorry you’re going through this sweet. I have felt similar bur for different reasons, i gave birth 10 days ago, and i have to strip my baby off to wake her to feed she’s such a sleepy baby but it worries me so much! I worry if she’s getting enough too! Which she is because she got weighed today and only 2oz off her birth weight! When she cries I’m constantly worried, always worried about everything I can’t sleep when she’s sleeping because I have to keep an eye on her!! So you’re truly not alone 🩷💕

These early days are stressful. There’s a lot to take in. Even as a second time mam I’m feeling the same and my little one is nearly 4 weeks now. Try and take it easy on yourself.
It’s normal for little ones to cluster feed but definitely speak with midwives about latch as trust me you don’t want to suffer through the pain just to ensure bay is fed. If you need formula to give your nipples a break do it. Fed is best!!! It’s tricky when breastfeeding as you never truly know how much you are feeding but I was told in the first couple of days a few teaspoons of collostrum is more than enough for baby until milk comes in. Then their stomach starts to expand. It’s tricky (and tiring) but just feed when they ask for it.
You’ve got this mama!!!

Nursing chair

I am having my first child in December and currently getting things for the nursery.
Do you think nursing chairs are needed?

Am I being insane

(Forgot to make it a poll)

I keep thinking that if the roles were reversed, I would be such a better husband. I feel like I'm a lot more thoughtful than my husband, I get him small things from the store or a food he's been "craving" while I'm the one thats pregnant! I cook 100% of the time and clean 95%. I dont work so I guess he beats me on that. We have a 3 year old and only one car so I'm stuck with a baby while 7 months pregnant. When my husband comes home, he asks to take a nap, which I say yes nearly 100% of the time because I know how exhausted the day can make us. I just feel sad because I dont get offered a back massage or a foot massage. Like ever. Or a small gift. Or a "thanks for carrying my child!" Like I don't even feel pregnant and I feel a little taken advantage of.

He says he just forgets or doesnt think about me all the time and am I insane for being hurt by that??

Walks//coffee//positivity

Hi all! Just wondering if anyone in the area wants to go for a coffee or walkies any time?
I really need to get out the house and meet people, go out and do stuff! I unfortunately don’t have a car and haven’t been able to use much public transport as it’s been giving me major anxiety but I’ll try my best to travel to anywhere local! SW area 🫶

Childcare of baby number 1 when you're in labour with baby number 2?

I'm just wondering what people are doing with their other kids, when they go into labour and need to go into the hospital? I have a 21 month old, we have no close family near us to help. Nursery have agreed to have her in even if its not a day she normally does, but what do we do on a weekend? Or an evening? Hire a babysitter? Feels like a one off kind of situation...
