Kickstarting labor after water broke

So my water broke 12 hours ago and since then I’ve barely had any contractions (maybe like 6 in total and they were not strong). Just came home from triage after checking on baby and taking different tests to eliminate any infection risk. What can I do to trigger labour to start on its own? I have to go back to hospital to get induces tomorrow 8am if it hasn’t started naturally and would like to avoid an induction. Pls help!! Any positive stories if you’ve been in the same situation is also appreciated as I’m a bit nervous ❤️

Stay upright - walking, squats, gravity is your friend! Baby’s head will be pushing on your cervix and cause you to dilate. Good luck! 🥳

You don’t have to go back. The risk of infection increases only a slight amount and the more intervention you have the higher the risk of infection.

This happened for me with my two babies. 1. I got pitocin 12 hours after my waters broke and it was dreadful. I wasn’t incontrol of my birth experience after that and my daughter was born with forceps

2. My waters broke slightly at home I went in 8 hours later with mild contractions. Went home again until I had contracts approx 2 mins apart 6 hours later. I walked, rocked on my ball, took a bath, did stretches with my hips etc (you can find these online) and when i went back to hospital I birthed my son naturally 5 hours later.

Keep moving and listen to your body

Squats pelvic floor stretches yoga ball. Try a couple of steady walks

Go on YouTube and do the miles circuit! It put baby in right position to bring labour on (if your ready). Dont be coerced into doing anything you don’t want to do xxxx

Planned c section nerves

I have my planned c section this week due to baby being 95th percentile and I don’t want to be induced im absolutely petrified I have never had surgery in my life, I’m also scared of the recovery but at the same time I cannot imagine being induced .

I have said if baby comes naturally before then I will try but yeah I also told family when it is and the judgemental comments have come rolling in which is making me doubt everything.

Any advice tips and tricks?

Why C-Section for first time birth?

First time mums who are choosing to have a C-Section, what’s making you opt for it over vaginal birth? 🤔
