Back to work - holiday and notice

Hey guys! Hope it’s ok to ask this here. I want to hand in my notice (which is three months) the day I go back to work. Will that still count as the three months I have to go back to work without having to repay my enhanced maternity pay? And can I do that while I take my holiday (which will be about 3 weeks)? I hope that makes sense

If you hand in your notice on the day you’re due to go back and only have 3 weeks holiday you’ll need to take the 3 weeks holiday then work for the remaining 2 months and 1 week otherwise you will owe the enhanced pay back x

As it's contractual rather than statutory, there will likely be no blanket legal answer on this - it will come down to the wording in your contract and the interpretation of HR/management. Read the contract carefully and consider a discussion with your manager on your return before putting anything in writing, if your relationship is good.

You'll need to read the contract. Ive had previous jobs that stated I needed to return in an active role for 3 months, not on leave. Whereas my job now I can hand my notice in when I return to work on annual leave, before I actually start working again.

Do you talk about your issues with your husband around you ?

I’m curious… I would like to share sometimes when my husband pisses me off , but at the same time I don’t have friends who know very well my husband and I don’t want them to have a bad opinion on him as he is wonderful !
I opened up a very little to one of my bestie and then she opened up about her man… So I think we should do it more ?
Do you talk about your issues in your marriage around you and to who?

Husband is upset about low sex drive

Since having our baby, I have felt very unsupported around the house and with the mental load.
My husband works long hours, so I am home with the baby all day and into the night sometimes. My husband does also go to the pub or to drink with the boys. So this will also leave me alone for long periods.
He keeps getting angry that I don’t give him head or initiate sex regularly. I’ve explained it’s due to the mental load, however he has now resorted to saying he feels like a housemate and basically explaining that it’s my fault this has occurred.

I really don’t know what to do anymore… please help.
