my bub is almost 6 months old and is a contact napper all day (by being bounced and then rocked and ocassionally placed in the cot to try and keep asleep not on someone). baby also used to sleep in cot all night but now it’s in cot for the start of the night then cosleeping.
my partner thinks we need to just lay him in the cot and he will go to sleep as he needs to learn to put himself to sleep (even tho he’s a baby and i don’t think he will just ‘fall asleep’)
bub has never liked sleeping in the pram and only recently started sleeping in the car. he just loves people and is a terrible sleeper😅

We started doing sleep training I think around 4-6 months ago I csnt remember the recommended age so maybe 6 months. But we started laying them I’m there and checking every few min and after a couple of days they would do it themselves. It was the best thing ever because it helped them not be used to the constant rocking and we were able to get some time back in our day. We liked doing like a gentle Ferber method. Maybe try that and see how it goes for you guys.

I’ve always BF him to sleep, then put him down. Since day 1. So rarely contact sleep. But if we’re in the car or he’s in the pram and he’s tired, he’ll fall alseep w motion. That’s w motion though. Other than that he always BF to sleep. But he nods off once he has his full, and I’m able to put him down after 10m, so I didn’t mind BF him to sleep. He didn’t fight it. He had a nap every day either in pram or car seat since I went out every day though.

Never so far with bedtime,
but with naps he started putting himself down around 14-16months old (mainly when we were at my moms house or on vacation elsewhere, not really even in our own house)

I didn’t ever sleep train, but right after his 1st bday my son started pointing for me to get out of his room after I rocked him for like a minute. So I started just putting him in the crib and he’d go right to bed. I know that probably isn’t typical lol but he told me when he was ready

Around 20 months. He had his own bed at that point and I started him in his own bed at 18 months, I would lay with him until he was asleep but by 20 months he just needed to be tucked in, then i could leave and close the door and he'd fall asleep on his own. It didn't happen until he was fully weaned and in his own room though

This is very normal and your baby is still small!!! This is biologically wanted and ok
Don’t pressure it on him, won’t be good for anyone. They will show you when ready.
Don’t sleep train, no worth the negative side effects

My daughter’s 3.5 and still doesn’t do it. I go to bed with her until she falls asleep and then sneak out. I don’t actually mind, we talk about her day and just chat shit until she falls asleep. It’s sweet.

My baby is the same and it annoys me when people say just leave him in the cot because I know he won’t sleep. He’s only 4m so we are still in it so sorry not super helpful!

Almost 3 and still can’t.
This is massively massively temperament driven! Not something you can teach without adverse affects.

We lay with my 4yo until she falls asleep.

Haha i have a 2 year old and he will fight me tooth and nail to sleep...
Though we had a friends wedding one night and didnt get home till like 1am (he slept in his pram) but when we got back to the hotel he climbed into the double bed and went back to sleep before i could even change him out his suit thats the only time he had ever " put himself to sleep"

My daughter was always good at putting herself to sleep for nighttime sleep, id just lay her in the cot with her dummy and she would go to sleep in 5 minutes. But she needed contact naps throughout the day until she was 7 momths, then we went in holiday and it was too hot for contact naps so she went into her cot.
Shes 2.5 now and needs someone in the room until she falls asleep.
Question for the mums 🩷
Are you/have you vaccinating/vaccinated your baby? 💉
If yes, what made you decide to vaccinate? Are you glad you did?
And if not, I’d love to hear your reasons why.
No judgement either way… just interested in hearing different parents’ thoughts and experiences. 🤍

Hey mums. I am struggling bad with my little girl at the moment. she is going through a stage where she will scream at anyone who looks at her. She’s also biting people and biting herself when she gets angry or gets told no. Definitely the terrible twos come early.

My 2.5 year old is still drinking the bottle( normal milk) which I know he shouldn’t but it’s only once at night to sleep as I have a 4 month old and it’s difficult to put them both down, how do I stop the bottle?

He’s also been unemployment for almost a year. I’m so sick of his shit.

Any advice on going to appointments alone 🥹❤️🩹trying to stay strong and make it seem like it doesn’t bother me but it’s starting to get to me 😕..I’m trying my hardest to not cry so much with my baby boy but only Lord knows this pain that I’m trying to suppress 💔

The first 2 nights with baby I’ve had to set alarms to feed her as she would happily just sleep all the way through without waking. Tonight she’s doing the opposite🤣
I’ll feed her, put her in her next to me, within 2 mins she’s crying and showing hunger ques. So I feed her again…the process continues. She’s been in and out of this next to me about 8 times now. I don’t think it’s got anything to do with hunger I think it’s just comfort because she will happily stay sleeping on me. (Bed sharing isn’t really an option as we only have a small double bed + share with our dog, it’s already too cramped so I really do want her to be able to sleep in her own safe space). I’ve got her in a love to dream swaddle too to try to settle her but doesn’t seem to be helping. Anything else I can try ??
