I’ve enrolled my 3 year old in nursery, and I’m currently self employed, so I work from home. That’s how I’ve managed to keep him at home for so long.
However, he’s supposed to start next week, and I’m feeling extremely anxious about it. He’s only going part time, which is 3 hours a day, but I keep thinking about the long term commitment.
I know winter is approaching, and there are some days when, mentally, I just can’t bring myself to leave the house. I also have a 1-year-old, so I’m constantly thinking about how I’m going to manage everything.
I know nursery will probably be good for him, but I’m really struggling with the thought of having to commit to going every day of the week, especially on the days when I’m not feeling up to it.
Any advice or reassurance from other parents who have been through something similar would be really appreciated. ❤️

There’s no need to bring him every day! Especially not to start with, I work in a nursery and we don’t mind at all when a child doesn’t come in just call to let the setting know before hand. Although do keep in mind his settling in process may be longer if his routine isn’t constant, if he knows he can ask to stay home or doesn’t know which days he is going to nursery he may become more unsettled when he’s there or drop offs may become hard especially since he knows you will be at home with his sibling. He will have a key worker in his room who you can chat to about your concerns and once your child has done a few sessions they will be able to give you better advice. For example if he goes into nursery and is happy to be there, you won’t need to worry, although if he is unsettled they may advise bringing him in more frequently to help him overcome this xx

I also work from home and didn’t send my son to nursery until he was 3. Best decision i ever made was to enrol him, he had the best time every day, we were always given photo updates on what he got up to, it expanded his palete (he was previously a very picky eater) and also gave me my hand back so that i could have a better flow work schedule and genuinely not go insane😄 you don’t have to commit to every day, its nursery not school so if you decide not to send him one day, you are able to keep him home without question. But i think you’re making the right decision for him in the long run
I enrolled him in a school based nursery, so does that make a difference? I just don’t want them to think I’m lazy. Initially, I wanted him to go 2 full days, but they said they don’t offer that option because it’s a school based nursery. He has to attend 5 days a week for 3 hours a day, which is part time.

In the nicest possible way, I feel it will actually be a very good thing for your anxiety. It will force you out of your comfort zone and is only for a few hours and give you and him plenty of time to settle into a routine before school.
You may have anxiety but you don’t need to let us define you. I’m always so much better at doing things for others than I am myself so hopefully this will give you the ouch you need to overcome some of your issues and feel stronger for it.
Well done for taking the step for your boy and yourself. 💪🏼 .x.x.x.

We are at a school nursery and we don’t go every day we started with two morning then three so may be worth asking to them
Am I being unreasonable?
My husband has been under diagnosis for chrons , IBS and a multitudes of other illnesses for years. He has not been diagnosed as he’s never hit the markers for anything and even his Chrons was taken to a board but it was agreed he doesn’t have it. Anyway we had a 2.5 year old and a 9 month old , he naps when our toddler naps so in the day I do everything , even when I’d just given birth he’d take our toddler out but would nap with her and I’d be left with all the washing etc. he was much better at helping with our first as he was off for 3 months after he was both but this time around I’ve come to realise how lazy he actually is , I have to nag and nag to get him to complete any task. I have to arrange what we do on the weekend , he’ll never make plans. I’m just so fed up and burnt out from it and some days fantasise about divorcing him as on the days I solo parent it is actually easier. I don’t agree with his parenting most of the time as he can be quite sharp and snappy to our toddler and guilt trips her when she’s just figuring out her emotions. I’ve suggested couples therapy but the only time slots is when he’s at work and won’t take the time off work for it , even my family members have commented how lazy he is. Sorry for the long post , am I being unreasonable for wanting more? I know life would be 100% harder if he split up and I couldn’t imagine having my kids half the time , it’d break my heart and I know he’s poorly but I’m mid 20’s and I can’t waste my life looking after him also when he gives nothing back , also doesn’t change any of his lifestyle habits. I’m so stuck on what to do , any advice would be great! We haven’t had sex 6 months as he just repulses me now , I can’t even pretend anymore. So confused.

I just feel so tired and overwhelmed. I have multiple small children and very little help. Today I feel so tired like I can’t even get up to make food for us to eat. Now I’m not saying we have food insecurity or my children go hungry -my children are very well taken care of. What I’m saying is this is the first time I realized that I am so overwhelmed that it’s going to take everything I have to get up and make food, something as simple as food. I feel guilt like a bad mother and I realize maybe for the first time how much difficulty I’m having. It’s just very hard I didn’t realize how difficult this would be. I’ve never been this tired and I need God to give me the strength.
Mothers do not get enough support and I wish that were different. Am I alone or does anyone understand?

So my daughter sees a speech therapist and she told me today about something that was said to one of the parents in the play group thats hosted by the therapy group. There was a little boy with cerebral palsy the very first day. The last 2 times I noticed he wasn't there. Well I found out that apparently someone told the mom the play group wasn't for special needs kids..... excuse the fuck out of me??? Wtf? Her speech therapist told me that it's not hard to accommodate for the little boy and that thats why he hasnt been there since. I am absolutely livid right now. I want to say something to the person hosting the play group but im afraid I might go off on her. So im thinking of having my husband say something. The last 2 play groups he could have easily participated in. My only issue is will me saying something possibly cause a problem for the mom? I asked my daughters speech therapist if it might be possible to give the mom my number that way we can get our kids together to play.
So the main question this pole is here for is... should i say something?
Another question but comment your answer please.. should I get the ada involved?
I know this seems stupid, I just dont want to cause any hardships for the mom.

Hello!!
I recently became a SAHM. I’m struggling with not making my own money. Yes my husband can give me money but I don’t even want to ask for it.
I recently started an online kids clothing boutique but not going well I think it’s bc where I live people aren’t interested in boutique type of clothing. Going to keep trying on this but just a little bummed it’s not gotten more sales
Suggestions advice to get through this??
