Has anyone ever actually tried it and does it work.
My LO is 5 months old and waking every 90 minutes in the night. 2 weeks ago it was taking 2 hours of crying to get her to sleep in my arms.
Has anyone had any success with CIO. I just feel like if we both get better sleep we will both be so much better for it. LO is so sad during the day when they are over tired and can't nap
No judgement please I just need a fix

I did this and was best thing we’ve ever done. Research Feber method and read up on it. He was doing the same and waking up every 40 mins etc and then after two days of feber he slept through the night. Obv when teething and illness can affect it. But he’s been an amazing sleeper ever since and he’s 4 now x

Yes absolutely, don’t get me wrong it was awful when we did it but only took two nights of being persistent in the long run it paid off. I’m nearly due with our second child and absolutely going to do it again. I’ve had friends still struggling with sleep now 4 years later. Obviously only do what works for you but it does work. I did lots of research so have a read and see what you think x

We did ferber at 5.5 months and it 'worked' for 2 months. Then sleep got significantly worse and it no longer worked and we wished we didnt do it because it made things much worse in the long run. But every child is different!

There's absolutely no judgement but please be aware- any form of sleep training on a baby that young will cause a gigantic spike in cortisol (stress hormones), heightened heart rates and babies don't stop crying because their needs are met, they stop crying because they become hopeless. The cry it out method can lead to attachment issues, worse sleep over time and this can have an effect on their development.

We also did ferber at 6 months. He was waking every hour and it wasnt sustainable. We tried the so called more 'gentle' methods, but they just overstimulated him and ge cried so much harder and longer. Ferber was a lifesaver for us

any sort of ‘cry it out’ method has been proven to be harmful in ways, people like to completely ignore this research as it makes them feel better but it is true. if you chose to do it just make sure you are aware of all of this research so you know exactly what it is you’re doing. no judgment here as such! we all have to do what we have to do, but you should be fully aware of all possibilities before deciding. reading success stories is easy to cloud judgement and jump to decisions as yes it does work, but it does not work by teaching self soothing as it claims, it just teaches baby that no one comes when i cry so they give up. the mind has a natural reaction when cortisol is spiked so much that is stops you crying and forces your body into rest and sleep literally so you do not do damage. there are much better, genuine ways, to teach a baby to self soothe which do not have a possibility of harm to the child and work with supporting sleep also xx

its nelect and will affect your childs attachment and emotional development. she could just be having a sleep regression so it might be more beneficial to try and power through, as hard as it is. i am sorry you are finding this phase so hard with you LO’s sleep that you feel the feed to consider CIO. my heart goes out to you and i hope you can figure out what is best for you and your family.
Can anyone explain consumables at nursery and if they are compulsory (we provide our own nappies, wipes, nappy cream etc) thanks

My daughter is almost 8 months old, so I’m starting to feel like maternity leave is at an end. She’ll be going to nursery in January. For so long I’ve felt anxious about leaving her with strangers. Although, recently I’ve found it so difficult looking after her. She’s so fussy, making whining noises all day for no obvious reason. She constantly needs distracting, or won’t nap unless I’m lying with her. It’s all so exhausting. I’m wondering if any mummas out there actually found relief in their child being looked after at nursery - like it’s having a break from the exhaustion of constantly being needed (while still missing her of course). Could it actually benefit our relationship, that she comes home and I’m happy to spend all my time with her?

Ever since I have announced my pregnancy I stopped being me, but only the one who is meant to keep the very loved baby alive and happy.
It was ok during pregnancy because my baby and I were one and who wanted to care for the baby had to care for me. Even when someone called me, they called to hear that the baby was growing and her kicks were stronger every day. When I wanted to talk about how sleepy, tired or in pain I am they changed the topic.
Since my baby was born it has been getting worse. Even my own mother calls me only if she can see her granddaughter. She openly said she wouldn't bother to come see us if it was not to see my baby.
Now my baby is in a stage that she only wants to be with me. Everyone in the family knows this is a normal phase and a sign of healthy attachment. But they still try to separate me from my baby saying she needs to get used to it. "She cannot be with me all the time". When she cries with someone else and I don't want to hand her over or ask them to give her back to me, they take it as I am keeping my baby away from them. Just last night my MIL took my baby from me knowing well that she was gonna cry and told me to "go away" with the excuse that the baby cries when I am near by but stops when she doesn't see/hear me. I don't wanna take these personal but I cannot help myself. My husband thinks I am very sensitive over my baby, and yes I am but what bothers me is that people don't see me as a person anymore. They forget I still have feelings. That this is beyond hormones, or being postpartum or sleep deprived. I still exist as me and it infuriates me when they act like I don't.
Does anyone else feel the same way?

My little one is 3 and a half weeks old and the last couple of days he will just not let me put him down without screaming, day and night.
I've tried swaddling (he didnt like it), tried applying pressure once he goes down (didn't work) and the obvious feed/ change nappy/ burp.
Does anyone have a magic way of getting him to lay by himself or can someone just reassure me it is just a phase!!

What are people’s opinions on second hand travel pram systems, particularly car seats and bases?
Most we are seeing in shops new are around £1200 which seem so expensive. I am seeing second hand ones for sale in great condition and barely used but am being ridiculed by family members for even thinking about a second hand car seat, even if barely used. Just open to peoples thoughts and opinions!
