Have you introduced screentime?

If so how long a day?
If not how are you getting things done?😭

I was adamant I wasn't going to give screen time but man it has been the best thing someday to get chores done or change his nappy.

But I'm also reluctant for that to be my go to all the time and trying to minimise as much as possible

I put my little one down for tummy time if i need to do anything but the tv is always on. However his main TV time is when he first wakes up cous I need to sort the dog out as well as doing a few other things.

We do 30mins in the morning (kipper the dog=low stim) so I can make coffee, breakfast, wash bottles and repack the baby bag.
I then try make up for my absence by sitting with him and reading a book or doing a baby puzzle and having a chat.
Screens aren’t bad it’s what they replace when overused which is bad, communication and 1:1 time playing with their caregiver. Screens are still a useful tool for a short period here and there if you need to do something you cannot involve them in (using a kettle and toaster 😂)

Trying to keep my little one away from screen time for first couple of years. Tough to get things done. Put little one in her mamas and papas activity chair and talk to her and let her watch what I’m doing. Last a little while until she wants out.

Unfortunately I have , and I have regrets lol. Now we struggle with out it . I wish I never introduced it

Mine doesn’t have screen time specifically aimed at her but she’ll be in the room if her 3 YO sister has TV time (usually about 15/20 mins in the morning and evening). She doesn’t seem that fussed though! I did try Ms Rachel once and that was another matter however 😂

could this potentially be her teeth ?

i might be crazy but honestly i'm not sure, her gums feel hard and she has been drooling a ton lately. she also has been getting super fussy and hasn't been eating as long / will refuse the breast at first. she has been eating her hand (but not in a hunger way) and will eat my arm, i am just very unsure.

Teenagers Working

Ok, based on another post I saw and now I'm curious.
If your teenager holds a job, at what age would you feel comfortable still calling their boss to complain about a scheduling policy that you disagree with? Or any policy that you disagree with?

Mama stressed

Little rant but mainly looking for advice of any kind 😩
So my eldest boy is 6 and he is really struggling with his behaviour over the summer holidays he’s been so naughty and has constantly pushed buttons completely on purpose he claims he can’t control it and that his brain is bad however I can’t excuse or understand how he can do things like pour Pepsi all over his dads £1400 gaming set up because he ‘doesn’t like it’ or smash his tv out of anger coz a game wouldn’t let him play it how he wanted he’s constantly stealing things like chewing gum or snacks and then refusing to eat actual food and he’s shouting at us and telling us he hates us and we’re worst parents and he’s even gone as to far as attempting to hit his baby brother who’s 17 months old. Overall I’m at breaking point because this isn’t who he is yet it’s all he seems to be doing lately I’m heartbroken and feel defeated and I just want my boy back and to help get to bottom of this 😩😭

If your arrival time for your elective was 7:30am, when did you go into the theatre?

I know it's dependent on emergencies, just curious what time you were in the theatre if you were told to come in for 7:30am. Please even include delay times ❤️ also when were you told to fast from?

I just need to vent

So my daughter had a week and a half off from nursery recently (the half was due to her having a temperature and not being able to go and the week was because I had time off so we could spend quality time together).

She’s been back to nursery this week, has only been in for 2 days, and she’s already coming down with something and her temperature is starting to increase 🤬

She’s 2 years old and has been at nursery for 15 months already.

She was only ill less than 2 weeks ago.

And now she’s coming down with someone else!

I thought they were supposed to get better with not getting so ill the longer they spend at nursery? But she just keeps getting ill and it’s never ending!

We’ve both taken so much time off work. I feel like I can’t look for a new job because of constantly needing to be off with her when she’s sick and my husband can’t do it due to work commitments and lack of flexibility, I just thought this was going to get easier.

Why does she have to keep f’ing catching stuff!!

And then why are people continuously taking their sick kids into nursery?? It’s 2 f’ing days for peep sake!! How is she possibly ill already?! Such an f’ing joke!!!!!

Argh!
