Anybody else experiencing difficulty feeding?
My baby used to feed great, she’s 11 weeks now and since around 6 weeks she’s been super fussy around feeds.
Shes formula fed, 5-6oz every 4 hours. Every feed is a battle, can take up to an hour (sometimes more). She cries, sometimes coughs / splutters and gets upset.
At 6 weeks I took her to A&E because of the worry to be basically told I’m dramatic and a first time mum. The problem has persisted, I’ve contacted my GP and health visitors and been told basically the same thing.
I went to my mother’s for some support 3 hours away, we tried her on 3 different bottles, 4 different teats, still the same.
Contacted the doctor again to be told she’s alert and having healthy bladder and bowel movements so no concerns.
Last week she got weighed and isn’t growing to their expectations so now we have to get her weighed every two weeks.
I could scream… I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN !!!
I went back to the doctors yesterday who said she may have silent reflux so prescribed a milk thickener.. still no better, still fighting feeds.
I feel like I’m going crazy, nobody seems to be listening to me 😩

Have you tried pace feeding? My little one struggles with latch and lip seal on her bottles. We tried lots of different bottles but with some tweaks she can get through most a feed. She does have lots of discomfort though caused by reflux and trapped wind from taking in air during her feed. She coughs and splutters too but we have to watch her and anticipate when it happens so we can slow or pause the feed allowing her to catch her breath. Usually if she's squirming, wide eyed, gulping etc it's a sign her suck, swallow, breath pattern is becoming uncoordinated.

We had the same thing! Started medication for silent reflux too! Turns out my baby also had CMPA. We switched formula and she’s much much better now. She didn’t have any other signs of it other than fussy feedings and silent reflux. Hope you can find a solution quickly, I know it’s so stressful to know your baby is hungry but refusing to feed! 🥹🫶🏼

Eating soap
So my kid is almost 2 and constantly wants to eat soap. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice, or is/went through this themselves. He just finished a bubble bath and keeps drinking the water whenever he gets a bath, he also keeps wanting to play with soap all the time.

What age did you transition your babies from sleep bags to a duvet and pillow?

Sleeping training - a must?
Anybody sleep trained using the Ferber method? How long did it take you? Any alterations to the method? A completely different method? Or happily feeding/rocking to sleep?
The big sleep training. Wow. My little one is 7 months and I just tried the Ferber method tonight and failed on the second check in. Well, dad did the first check in and the screaming that ensued, I just did not have it in me to go in and leave her again. I think it was a big ask to go from breastfeeding to sleep, to “so I’m just going to put you down and walk out the room now”. Dad was really supportive of whatever I wanted to do, but we both see the long term gain from this in her sleeping independently, which I’ve seen she’s capable of especially when it’s nap time. I’ve decided I’ll stop feeding to sleep initially, and then I’ll decide on whether I want to try to sleep train or not. Amazing in the long run, but in the moment I just feel so bad.

Sleeping in my bed
Does anyone let there 2 mouth old sleep in bed with them if ur single mom so its just you two because my little one only sleeps if he is in bed with me

I think I just need to vent.
My baby is 11 months and I still BF, even for naps and bedtime and the middle of the night, he wakes up multiple times... My in laws are coming soon so my husband will take vacation from work so we can take them to know the city and different places, etc. They wont be staying with us so I told my husband I want to use those nights to stop BF during the night so I'll be sleeping in the other room and he can be with the baby and make him to sleep rocking him or as he can... Now he is complaining that then he is not gonna sleep because of that and he is the one that will be driving the next day. Am I being irracional? For 11 months I have done it, and I'm the one waking up and sleeping in a uncomfortable position and with back pain. I don't ask him to so it on regular weekdays because I know he needs to be rested to work the next day.
