I think too young.

My kids are 7 and 10 and no tech....... it IS possible.....

I mean he won't die. It was just one time. I wouldn't make it a regular thing at all though.

Id be mad too tbh. Theres no reason a younger than 2yo should be on an ipad regularly. Pbs kids is still a tv app and they have things like sesame street if you feel like using a screen so much.

Work it out together hear him out however also voice your reasoning meet in the middle if need be or find alternatives depending on if the child is affected in a negative way I will say it’s recommended for no screen time before three however that’s not typically realistic in today’s society.

I really don't see the harm in it aslong as they have a time limit on it

If you are going to do screen time, I would focus on the following:
Watch on a tv where he can’t change the show himself
Make sure everything is high quality programming
Don’t ever use screens to calm him down when he’s disregulated
The vast majority of parents are doing the best they can with the resources they have at the time. If you truly don’t have the energy to do anything else, you have to just do the best you can.
If you Google things like “no set up toddler activities” or even something like “toddler activities when parent is too tired to function” you should get some great ideas. Busy Toddler is an Instagram account with some good suggestions. And there’s lots you could set up with things you already have at home.
Like let him play with a container of dry oatmeal with a couple spoons and cups in it. Just vacuum it up when he’s done (and can put a mat underneath his chair obviously). Ideas like that are what I’m talking about.

BD is right. Are you and BD living together?
I’m not trying to be rude but if you aren’t it’s honestly better for your son to just be at dad’s then at yours if you’re too busy.
I told my husband spending time near our 2 year old is not the same as spending time with him.
iPads are supposed to be even worse than tv.
More than an hour of tv in a day reduces white matter or the wiring of the brain which is what allows all the different parts of the brain to communicate with each other.
This age is when 70% of the brain is built. 80% by age 3. 90% by age 5. You’re setting him up for life now.
Some alternative options are giving him containers to practice dumping water from one to the other in the yard so there’s no mess.
A covered sand box for sensory development. Non-chokeable beads on thread. Fun kids refrigerator magnets to arrange. Shape sorters. Reusable stickers..

You can if you want to. I wouldn’t do all day but a little here and there is fine.

A lot of people have already given good and helpful advice here, but I also want to say that... unfortunately, it won't get any easier. He's only going to get more active and more demanding of your time, and as they get older, they want you to engage and play with them and chase them around. I know people always say "just wait," but honestly, it's true. Just something to consider for the future.

Bigger screens (tv) are better than smaller screens but as others have said, screen time should be limited. If you really need them, can you FaceTime a friend to talk to your kid? Do you watch low stimulating shows? Low energy ideas can be tough for that age but what about coloring, books, splashing in the tub, or just giving them a safe space to climb and play?

iPad is genuinely damaging to their brains, they did recent studies and it actually kills grey matter (brain tissue). It's the opposite of growing their brain
I know it's convenient and you're tired, but sometimes we have to make choices in our child's best interests, not just pick what's easy

Fill empty water bottles with pebbles, another with beans, another with water and glitter.
Give him old pots and spoons to bang on. A measuring tape. A medium sized bouncing ball. Big blocks. Big leggos. Sing or hum.
But tv at that age is not needed and id be mad too.

Why do you not have time? Why do you not have the energy? Are you working full time and he’s with someone else while you’re working and then you come home to him? He is he with more often you or dad? If you are constantly tired then maybe there’s something else going on. And this is coming from someone who is constantly tired. Maybe you need to up your vitamins or iron to have more energy. Maybe you need to get your thyroid checked because that can cause low energy. I have a thyroid thing and that makes me tired all the time. You don’t have to play with your child all the time. I very rarely play with my children because they are great at independent play. But there is the occasional time where they want me to or want me to watch and I can. They also watch tv almost everyday or I’ll put something on for me. But they also play with their toys all the time and play outside. There is always a balance that happen. But replacing you and the entertainment or the connection you bring with an
i might be crazy but honestly i'm not sure, her gums feel hard and she has been drooling a ton lately. she also has been getting super fussy and hasn't been eating as long / will refuse the breast at first. she has been eating her hand (but not in a hunger way) and will eat my arm, i am just very unsure.

Ok, based on another post I saw and now I'm curious.
If your teenager holds a job, at what age would you feel comfortable still calling their boss to complain about a scheduling policy that you disagree with? Or any policy that you disagree with?

Little rant but mainly looking for advice of any kind 😩
So my eldest boy is 6 and he is really struggling with his behaviour over the summer holidays he’s been so naughty and has constantly pushed buttons completely on purpose he claims he can’t control it and that his brain is bad however I can’t excuse or understand how he can do things like pour Pepsi all over his dads £1400 gaming set up because he ‘doesn’t like it’ or smash his tv out of anger coz a game wouldn’t let him play it how he wanted he’s constantly stealing things like chewing gum or snacks and then refusing to eat actual food and he’s shouting at us and telling us he hates us and we’re worst parents and he’s even gone as to far as attempting to hit his baby brother who’s 17 months old. Overall I’m at breaking point because this isn’t who he is yet it’s all he seems to be doing lately I’m heartbroken and feel defeated and I just want my boy back and to help get to bottom of this 😩😭

So my daughter had a week and a half off from nursery recently (the half was due to her having a temperature and not being able to go and the week was because I had time off so we could spend quality time together).
She’s been back to nursery this week, has only been in for 2 days, and she’s already coming down with something and her temperature is starting to increase 🤬
She’s 2 years old and has been at nursery for 15 months already.
She was only ill less than 2 weeks ago.
And now she’s coming down with someone else!
I thought they were supposed to get better with not getting so ill the longer they spend at nursery? But she just keeps getting ill and it’s never ending!
We’ve both taken so much time off work. I feel like I can’t look for a new job because of constantly needing to be off with her when she’s sick and my husband can’t do it due to work commitments and lack of flexibility, I just thought this was going to get easier.
Why does she have to keep f’ing catching stuff!!
And then why are people continuously taking their sick kids into nursery?? It’s 2 f’ing days for peep sake!! How is she possibly ill already?! Such an f’ing joke!!!!!
Argh!

If so how long a day?
If not how are you getting things done?😭
I was adamant I wasn't going to give screen time but man it has been the best thing someday to get chores done or change his nappy.
But I'm also reluctant for that to be my go to all the time and trying to minimise as much as possible

Since having our baby myself and my partner are extremely unhappy, we have completely grown apart, he doesn’t support me/has no interest in me. I’ve had enough as I can’t live my lice like this. The only thing that stops me from leaving is because we have a mortgage together and I’m so worried about having no where to go with my LO. I can’t afford the mortgage myself especially being on MAT leave and worried about having nowhere to go.
Anyone else gone through anything similar and can give any advice please.
