Inductions and sweeps

Just to ease your mind, my induction went so smoothly! They started at 7:30pm and I was only 2cm, I’d had no sweeps prior only a nurse trying to place a balloon catheter to try induce that way however I opted for the gel pessarys instead as I didn’t feel comfortable getting it placed. I felt absolutely nothing until maybe 10:30pm when I started having quite intense contractions straight away. My waters broke and I was 5cm at about 2am then my baby was born at 4:33am. It was quick and intense but i preferred that over slow and happening over a longer time.

Why are you being induced so early, are you having complications?

My induction also went smoothly, honestly epidural all the way couldn't feel anything, they broke my water's and I was on the hormone drip. Couldn't feel any contractions, however I then had to have an emergency c section due to complications with the cord wrapped around baby, so didnt go all the way through. I was a nervous wreck before the epidural but honestly it was the best thing made me so relaxed. Hope this puts your mind at rest
