curious to know when did yall begin letting your babies self soothe themselves to sleep? any tips? my LO is 8 months, i’ve always had to walk/bounce/put her on my chest to get her to nap or down for the night since she was a nb. she never took to a pacifier.. tried a lot and just didn’t find one she liked to keep in her mouth. will it be impossible without a pacifier?

We did around 5/6 months. Cant remember when specifically maybe a little later. It can be possible with out a pacifier. Maybe a little harder but who knows. We didn’t ferber method but a little more gently then the typical schedule. We didn’t let them cry or sit for longer than 5-10 min. I think Ferber goes to like 30. We didn’t do that. 10 was max if we were like on the toilet or something. But they got the hang of it after a few days you can message me if you’d like to hear more.

It is possible without a pacifier but self soothing cannot be done at that age yet

We are 14 months and still not able to fully self settle on every single occasion

My little one is 14 months and will self settle at night for the majority of the time. We found that he would wake up and cry for a few minutes and then go back to sleep. I really struggled to work out when I needed to go in so every time he woke up I would go for a wee and by the time id come back he was alseep again. Getting him to sleep we still have to cuddle him and tap his bum

15 months - we moved from rocking at about 8 months to patting in the cot and it helped the transition from there. Look at ‘habit stacking’ so you’re not going cold turkey on changing familiar habits x

I’m pretty sure I did around 7 months! I noticed she wanted to start self soothing because whenever I was rocking her for naps or bedtime she would fidget so much in my arms and get so cranky, it would also take so long! So one day I literally hugged her said goodnight and gave her a kiss and laid her down, she instantly turned over and whinged for about 5 minutes and was then asleep! The second time she protested abit longer but by day 3 she was doing naps and bedtime self soothing x

Mine never had a pacifier and started falling asleep by himself consistently around 5 months. It was hard work, but no cry it out! I put that on consistent routine (we always do the exact same steps for bedtime) and gradually doing less and less to help him fall asleep, start with nighttime first then naps. It’s easier as they have more sleep pressure. Took a couple of weeks and he kept waking overnight to nurse but now that he’s 11 months, I’ve completely night weaned and he’s now sleeping through finally! It does take some work, and confidence in the method you’re using so I would research appropriate schedules etc. Taking Cara babies was brilliant for us.
My baby just turned four months on the 20th. She hasn’t quite sat up by herself yet but every time she is in somebody’s lap or somebody’s holding her, she’s showing interest in wanting to stand up. When is a good time to get her one of those bouncing toys, I wasn’t sure if we should introduce it yet because she’s not sitting independently or not

My baby has just turned three months and I want to start tracking her sleep during the day, does anyone use any apps that are free and they would recommend? I am not trying to sleep train her till next month but I know it will take a couple months to do so I am not worried, I just want to know she is getting the right amount of sleep now and when she is sleeping in case she has too much or too little, she slept last night from around eight ish till about eleven ISH if I remember and the half three ISH for a bottle then woke up at seven for another bottle, had a wiggle in the cot while I chilled out next to her, I have a cold and it's zap me or else I would interact with her, she got fussy around half seven I think and came for a cuddle and slept till ten ISH and then I had to go out on a important errand, which she napped in the car for about half an hour after crying all the way there which was overwhelming but I had to do it, then around two ISH we both slept till five ISH, as I said I am not well so she was in her cot and me in bed and then she asleep around half eight, I want to know this all correct for her age.
Also how does everyone elses three month old sleep position at the moment, I have a very wiggly baby so I won't use a blanket as she kicks it off and has started to grab, so she's in a sleep bag with arms because she can roll over, with great head control and now for the last few months has slept on her side even when I place her on her back then will slowly move around the cot, I always check her but seems alright, video so you see what she does

What do you prefer with baby bottles and why?

Maybe it’s because I’m jealous, maybe it’s because I’m hoping to find peace in myself but those who have babies/children who sleep well have a very different journey of motherhood/fatherhood. I’m tried, burnt out and close to a menty B

I literally don't know what to do. I want to stop co-sleeping but it is a nightmare. As soon as I place my baby in his bassinet he'll start screaming bloody murder, or roll onto him belly and wake himself up, or sleep 30 minutes then wake up. It's a battle every night and eventually I'm exhausted and give up. He wins and gets to sleep next to mommy. I don't know what to do. 😭 He sleeps perfectly fine on his own for naps, just not at bedtime. Any advice?

Just thought I’d celebrate a milestone in my motherhood.
Today, after 2 years and 8 months of being a mother to my daughter, I successfully transferred her off me from falling asleep on the boob (that’s what works for us idc) into her cot.
Fast and quiet was the method, slight winge then she rolled over and is out for the count.
Feel pretty proud of myself
