Walking behind some school girls and seeing their ass, trousers seems a very sensible option!

First women were forced to wear skirts and now they’re being forced out of them lol.. I think a more common sense approach would be to not make it as gendered but have like a standard pants option or skorts/ a reasonable length short, but no rules about who can wear which ones. That way trans or nonbinary people can oscillate between those choices without outing themselves or experienced as much dysphoria and also you can not be forcibly heat trapped in some damn trousers in the warmer months

Policing kids clothing at school is weird and rooted in rape culture

I think its probably a roundabout way to avoid spending time and effort enforcing the skirt length policy. I remember when I was a teenager girls would roll up their skirts incredibly short and inevitably get into arguments with teachers. I dont think short skirts are necessarily bad, it's about time and place, but school is to prepare them for employment and most workplaces/employers wouldn't see that as appropriate

these policies are always targeted towards girls. Teaching girls that their bodies are distracting to boys and so they have to cover up their shoulders and knees, ect.

They sexualize girls bodies and teach everyone that boys cannot control themselves. That what they wear dictates how the boys will act and what they will do. Making it all the girls fault.

Rape culture.

It's a good rule some girls were skirts I can see too much when I'm driving past them , there's lots of pervs out there we don't want them looking at our kids .

Fall from bed

This morning my husband got out of bed and I was more asleep still than usual. Our little one has become more mobile and somehow managed to roll off of the bed between the bed and nightstand. It’s about 2ft and we have carpet. He’s about 6 months old, rolling, now somewhat crawling.

I heard it immediately got him and he barely cried. As soon as I picked him up he was smiling and giggling. He has been eating, looking at us, grabbing and kicking all like normal.

I don’t see any bumps or bruises and he seems generally okay and unbothered by the entire incident.

My husband is very upset that we let him fall. He isn’t directly blaming me but I know I’m the one who failed our son. The guilt is overwhelming and I feel sick to my stomach. He keeps saying things like ā€œnow anytime something is wrong we’re going to think it it’s because when he fellā€ which makes me more upset 😭

I’m going to call his pediatrician but has this happened to other moms? Please don’t join this to just make me feel worse, I’m already very down on myself about it.

Am I the asshole

So there’s a restaurant near where I live that has a kids play attached to a seating area upstairs , there’s 5 signs around saying ā€œ you MUST supervise your children at all times in the play area , adults must remove shoes too ā€œ and two signs in the seating area saying not to leave children in the play area alone while you eat / drink.
This is a very small area too so it’s not hard to just sit on a block and watch.
But unfortunately as it’s attached to a seating area parents take the opportunity to go and sit and eat and let their kids play

I was there with my 2 year old and he was running around having fun with some other kids when a bunch of older kids come running in with a couple younger ones , the older ones were grabbing the younger ones and pushing them down the slide. One got one younger one in a head lock and another was kicking her ! I told them to get off her and I was going talking to their mother.

I asked the parents that was there who’s kid they was and it was non so I went out the play area and she was the only one sat there with her head in her laptop and her headphones on watching a YouTube video ! I went over and said excuse me you’re suppose to supervise your children not your laptop , one is in a headlock being kicked in the head crying.
She started to apologise but she said ā€œ no one had said nothing before ā€œ like so she knows she’s suppose to but doesn’t care ?? I just said people like you are the reason I don’t come here. ( True I avoid going due to the fact parents don’t watch their freaking kids in there )

Admittedly I was sick of it by this point and i definitely lost my cool a little with her so am I the asshole for not just going getting her politely as I had done before

What would you do?

I would love some advice as I really don’t know what to do. My husband’s family are all over from Prague, HK, Indonesia and we have a lunch booked with them tomorrow. My husband has said they now want to do dinner tonight. We have a 10 month old and a 4 year old. My 10 month old is at nursery today and doesn’t nap well and my 4 year old just started school yesterday. He wants us to pick them up and then go for dinner at 6pm (so unlikely we’ll get back before 8:30), and we will need to take the tube to get there. I know that both of my daughters will be grouchy and just wanting me the whole time so it will be utterly exhausting, and we will be pushing our 10 month old to her limit (she doesn’t nap on the go very well at all). My husband also then wants to stay out with his brother to watch a football game (although he said he wouldn’t do this if it was too much). It is incredibly rare that the whole family get together and this might be the last time as the mum is suffering from poor health. My gut is saying to look after my daughters and maybe opt out so that my husband goes and then they see us tomorrow. But I’m also conscious that they’ll all be really disappointed not to see us. Any thoughts?!

Food

Hey,
My baby is 7 months, she doesn’t like pureĆØs, and I’m really unsure what to offer her ?
She is ready for food, as I spoke to my doctors, my health visitor, and she’s showing all signs, she will eat snacky things like wafers, and puffs, we’ve given weetabix a go which she was happy with, but I’m just unsure what to offer to a bit of a picky eateršŸ™ˆ
Any tips or advice will be appreciated😊xx

Annoyed at husband

Am I right to be annoyed? My husband went to work this morning. He then told me he was going for a lunch with someone at 1 pm and would come home from there, he said he’d be home a bit earlier than normal, probably 4 or 4.30. He came home at 5.15pm, he’s taking 45 minutes to an hour before he actually comes to take over care of the baby. The way I see it he’s just had a whole afternoon of having a nice lunch and probably having some drinks while I’ve been looking after the baby. He shouldn’t need 45 minutes to an hour when he gets home before he takes over. Am I right to be annoyed? he’s taking the time to go to the toilet, roll his tobacco, listen to a podcast in his office…. Etc
