Hi Toddler moms,
What are you guys doing to keep screen time low? I’m trying to find more stuff for my one year old to do. I don’t mind him watching certain shows . I just don’t want him watching tv all day. We do the obvious things like read books and play in the house without the tv on and go to park.

If he can walk, I would say run errands with him, try a free and local splash pad. If the weather is nice, see if there’s anything at a library with free events. I usually just put music on the TV and take out toys. give him prompts, if you are OK, getting messy I would do like painting or drawing obviously supervised. Look up different sensory ideas

My toddler likes to string pasta you can try that if your toddler doesn’t try to eat it or try it with cooked pasta. She likes playing with paint, water, and shaving cream. You can get measuring cups, spoons, cups, buckets for the water. drawing with crayons, markers, chalk. We have cutting boards and tools that are toddler safe and my toddler cuts bananas

Washable paint, water table, mini trampoline and on the weekends indoor playground

My son is very independent when it comes to playing with most things. Cars, train tracks, water mat, colouring, painting.
But he likes to cook with me or paint in the kitchen whilst I cook.
If you aren’t afraid of the aftermath, give him loads of stickers 😂

Story time at the library. You can look up mom groups in the area, they normally do walks/meet ups/playdates

I boy loves blowing bubbles and drawing with chalk outside
So my daughter was playing on an indoor play ground with mostly children her age in there, about 2-3 kids that were a bit older than her. A little boy about 3-4 was rough housing around all the younger children, my daughter isn’t used to rough housing from other children. Even if she was.. he was being more nasty than rough housing with the younger kids, like my daughter.
Anyways my daughter and the little boy get into the same area that has a seat and my daughter is trying to play with a steering wheel in front of her and the little boy gets between her and the steering wheel, trying to force himself so he could play with it. There was another one right next to it.. and so he does that and my daughter gets slightly pushed back, there’s a seat in that area so she’s resting her arm on it and he purposely sits on her arm and doesn’t get up.. I was watching the whole thing from across the room (bitting literally every part on my being to calm down..) he wasn’t getting up and he just had a nasty attitude, like bouncing… so I get up and rush over. Telling him “please don’t sit on her” he’s looking up at me like he’s sad!!! I feel bad but my daughters feelings come first and I wasn’t being mean to him, just trying to set a boundary for my daughters feelings because she doesn’t talk much or express herself. I picked her up after and told her not to go near him anymore.
After my husband said I seemed mad walking up to the incident and that the dad near him look at him like “oh boy….”
So idk how it came across to others but I was trying to protect my child from what I seen as a little bit of a bully… hoping it was just a really rambunctious boy but idk..
Before that he accidentally punch a little girl smaller than my daughter down on the ground and I didn’t want something similar happening to my daughter.
Sorry venting/ranting and also want others thoughts on it too

So yesterday really tested me because come to afternoon my daughter would not go down to nap and when I did get her down and put her in her cot about five to ten minutes later she would wake up crying, I couldn't settle her at all, rock in my arms meant pinching and jerking her arms about, screaming till red in the face, put her in the cot to calm down the both of us, she cried like never before, gave her a bottle around half seven, fought her to sleep as she would not go in the moses basket, her bouncy chair or her play mat, ate my dinner cold and crying. So I took upstairs after an hour, she went for it then, so I took her temperature they say on the NHS website it's under the arms so it came back with a temperature I wasn't sure what to do, I just wanted to give her Calpol and get to bed, 111 did us an out of hour apparently and apparently she's either got the start of a bug, cutting her first tooth or having a off day, so yeah now I feel like I overreacted. Had my neighbour over helping and I am now sat here feeling like an idiot

He refuses to stop having an inappropriate relationship with his “best friend” who is a woman that has repeatedly told both of us she does not like me, she does not want to be my friend, and she is waiting for me to leave so she can be with my husband. She makes weird comments in front of him about how good she is in bed, and she enables his bad behaviors that damage our family.
I have asked him to stop talking to her but he says nothing is going on. I said this is about respect. He said he’s known her longer than me, and I’m just being petty and jealous over nothing.
I said he always picks her side over mine, always goes to her instead of me, and frankly I’m over it. I’m the wife and this is not a competition. If he cannot respect our marriage and continues to have an emotional affair with this woman I will leave.
He told me to go. 😂😂 I am so angry rn.

Me and my partner are due our little boy anytime. When we found out we were having a boy he did say that he wanted him to be circumcised. I’m white British and he is black british - Nigerian. I asked him what his reasoning was and he said because he was and I explained that because it’s something completely new to me that he would need to do some research and come back to me etc. I spoke with his mum and friends who have had their little boys done in regards to this and did do my own research too in the meantime. It was never a complete no for me and completely respect his background and culture and open to discussing all options, however it was something that I felt controversial on due to being a first time mum and being worried if something did go wrong.
Since, nothing has been mentioned, apart from a conversation about 8 weeks ago where he said to just leave it, I said to him I’m not saying no, I just need more of an understanding and for his reasoning for it doing to be valid too and that we’d look into it together. I’m 37 weeks today and no further conversation has been had, I’m wondering whether to still mention it, or just leave it as if it was something he was so adamant on wanting then for me he would have gone and done the research as I know they say it’s best to do it once baby is newborn. Any advice on where to go from here as I’m slightly anxious I’m going to end up being the blame for it not being done and I know his mum was quite pushy for it too. I just don’t want it to come across like I was a straight no and was being disrespectful to their culture, it was more I wanted him to fully understand the process of it too and as a parent you need to go and research these things beforehand.

My baby has just turned 6 months and we’ve gone straight in with finger foods, just like I did with my eldest about 2 years ago. I don’t remember my oldest gagging as much as my 6 month old just did? I know to an extent it’s normal but he coughed up pretty much the whole of what I’d just given him. I don’t really want to go down the puree route, I had a friend who struggled to get her baby to chew after purées, do i stick with it or give him a bit more time?
