Superstitions

Ooo I have one that is Not so much a superstition really, BUT I believe the opposite of the superstition that you should hold your breath when passing a cemetery. I heard very young that you should hold your breath when passing a cemetery to avoid making lingering spirits jealous that you were breathing & to generally show respect to the dead,
However I have forever thought holding your breath around the dead is more align with mockery than it is respectful.

I’m superstitious when it comes to birds lol. crows, owls, hummingbirds, etc. they all have their own superstitions attached and I’m honestly not sure if the lore stems from somewhere deeper or if I’ve just gathered bits and pieces from my grandma and my own imagination. When crows are paying attention to me or I see an unusual amount in a short time I take it as their warning for me to be alert of something, my environment, trickery, etc. hummingbirds are good luck and my passed grandmother😌 and owls are a sign death is near. I could go on and on about the birds lmao

I physically cannot pass a solo magpie and not salute it

My step mum salutes magpies 😆 something to do with bad luck 🍀

Break egg shells before putting them in the trash so fairies don’t take up residence lol

Don’t put your purse on the ground.
