Colostrum

When harvesting Colostrum ive been told not to use a hand held manual pump like a medula (i think thats how its spelt) at all before like 6 weeks PP including after baby using any pump until at least 6 weeks but ive seen alot of women use the hand held manual ones, im very confused at the advice from midwifes and other people! I know seeing USA advice is different as im in the UK so advice is rather different but it just confuses me!!

I started using my pump after my son was a week old. But that was from the advice of a breastfeeding expert to up my supply.
I wouldn't use it to collect colostrum, hand express only or you'll hurt yourself

I used the medela to collect colostrum and know a lot of people that did, I found hand expressing really difficult, I didn’t hurt myself and got so much more From it

I believe the reason they say not to is due to the intensity of a pump replicating a baby nursing, it can induce labour! It’s the same reason they say don’t harvest colostrum until 37+ weeks!
By 37 weeks I was ready for this baby to be out so I just used my pump 😬

Sleeping

Curious as to when we start leaving our babies to wake up by themselves during the night??.

My little girl is six weeks and (touch wood🪵) has always been a great sleeper. I am still waking up during the night to wake her up for a feed as she would sleep all night if I let her.

She’s currently on 150ml every 3 hrs and 180ml before bedtime. She has had a good weight gain and perfectly healthy?? Should I just leave her till she wakes up herself?? What’s everybody else’s experiences?? 🙈Xxx

Husband doesn’t want me to get a boob job

I brought up possibly wanting one after I’m done breastfeeding. I’ve breast fed all 3 kids and when this baby is done I would want to get it. My boobs changed a lot from breast feeding I think they are uneven & saggy now. I wouldn’t get huge ones just natural but my husband says he doesn’t like that and it’s “fake”. I told him it would just to make me feel good in my own body but he’s really against it. What should I do?

Keeping babies from under the couch

What are we using to keep our little ones and toys from going under the couch, I’m extremely limited to space in my house so her play area will literally be right at the couch. I’ve seen the plastic one and a stretchy kind on Amazon but I’m not sure what’s more durable.

I can’t do this!

I’m so confused. I keep seeing people who have no issues sleeping with their babies or near their babies. I can’t! It’s been like 3, 4 weeks? IDk. Today it feels like I just hit a wall. I’ve tried the swaddling, and she still stirs and makes noises that wakes me up. I’ve tried the bed sharing. She still moves and fusses and squirms. I’m so tired. I dread nighttime because I know there’s no way I’m going to actually sleep. During the day I can hand baby to hubby and get some chunks of sleep, but at night, every little sound just wakes me up. I don’t know what to do.
