Last year I had my first baby who after I became seriously ill was delivered 2 months early. When I finished at work that was it. I got a very basic card in the post and a bouquet of flowers then heard nothing off of the company for the entire year I was off. This week a colleague is leaving to start her maternity leave. A group of people have organised a hamper for her and baby asking for monetary contributions. SO much has been bought and who knows how much money has been spent. Gift cards for coffees out, clothes for baby, bath products for mum and baby etc. I was asked to sign a card and it was full of so many messages telling her what an amazing and great mummy she will be, words I’ve never heard. I’m 16 weeks with our 2nd and know that when I leave again it will be just like last time. No recognition and a simple card in the post as that’s company policy. I’m sat at my desk feeling so stung and hurt by this. It’s a lovely gesture being done but surely if it’s because they’re friends it’s something that should have been done privately and away from work. Maybe I’m a rubbish mum and no one actually cares as no one really seems to care at all especially during a 2nd pregnancy

It all depends on the type of relationships you’ve with your colleague. Are you close with any of them? Are you close outside work? When I left for MAT LEAVE my colleague went above and beyond for me. When another colleague left they didn’t bother to do anything cause she keeps herself to herself. Dont socialise with the group. Have zero interest on getting to know anyone. She comes do her work and leave. I don’t think it has anything to do with you being a bad mum or good mom. That’s not for them to judge.

I didn’t get anything when I left didn’t even get a good bye I wouldn’t be surprised if my husband gets a hamper or a card or anything like that but for me the actual one that’s actually pregnant didn’t receive anything but the year before we all organised a hamper for one of my colleagues that was going on maternity leave 😔 it doesn’t help that we had like a whole management change weeks before me going on maternity leave

Sounds like the organiser and her are friends outside of work. Don't take it personally. Most people don't get all that. I'm sure you have your own friends and family who made you feel special? X
I don’t want to even get into it, but the only time he’s ever been nice to me is when i’ve been pregnant, and I pour everything I have into my kids. I know we all have our cross to bear in life, but my crime is that I wasn’t complicit to his pill problem, and it caused a lot of issues with CPS, which I unintentionally got involved when I reached out for help. His mom hates me. CPS thinks his mom is a toxic enabler. They deemed me the only competent care giver. Now they’ve closed the case, and I don’t have them to protect me anymore, and even if i leave, i still have to deal with these people for the rest of my life. honestly I really just wish him happiness and hope he finds somebody he actually loves and respects and respectfully lets me move on with my life. I just want to start my own business which i’m currently working on, and i want to take care of my parents and keep them out of the nursing home for as long as possible. I just want my parents. i want my mom. My dad who is my biggest support is dying. It kills me to know i won’t have my kids all the time. My husband just tells me how I’m not a good wife. I don’t understand why he’s even still with me.

Where is everyone doing their night feeds? I breast feed and then I have to pump because my son has tongue tie and that's what I was advised to do. My son is really good at sleeping at night, he'll eat and then go back to sleep, or have his nappy changed and then go back to sleep. Both with no intervention. Because of this I feed him and pump him in bed next to my husband.
Where does everyone else feed their little ones?

Anyone else’s toddler decide it’s playtime at 3am

Hiya, I was just wondering if anyone elses little one does this? She is my second child and my first didn't do this, so its all new.
My little one will only poop when her nappy is off. There may be the slightest residue in the nappy at times but otherwise, she waits until the nappy is off to go. She is 7months old and this has been the case for the past 2 months. Please tell me its not just us. 🙈
