Elective C Section VS Induction

It is looking very likely that we will be induced around the 37/38 week mark due to babies slowed growth. However, induction was one road I did not want to go down. Everyone I know has had painful inductions and that eventually led to emergency c-sections. I’m considering electing for a c-section instead of putting myself and baby through a lot of stress and pain. I’m so torn! I will be discussing with midwives and doctors in the next couple of weeks (we have a consultation this week and next). What is everyone’s thoughts/experiences?

I wish I did an elective section. I went for an induction bc I wanted to do it ‘naturally’ but it was so stressful. My cervix didn’t dilate at all with the pessary in and I was getting ‘fake’ contractions’ which hurt. They monitored me for a while and babies heart rate kept increasing or decreasing (forgot which one) so I had to have an emergency section anyway. If I do plan to have another baby I would go for an elective way less stress and painless (although it takes times time to recover)

I was induced twice and had my waters broken the third time (technically inducing labour?), and I had an ok experience with it the first time and a great experience second time!

I had a induction, FTM, baby was “big” she wasn’t she was a little tiny 7lb dot but scans showed her at nearly 9lbs so they were a bit off to say the least ! Hahaha.

My labour start to finish was 3 hours and 50 minutes, pushed her out in 30 mins.
Not all inductions are horrendous! As I had the same thought I packed my bag thinking I’m going to be in there for the entire weekend, Friday till Sunday.
Went in on the Friday was out by 5pm Saturday (she was born at 2am) xx

I had an c section i wanted to do naturally but I am glad I had the c section even though I was nervous. On the 35/36 scan (can't remember lol) they saw reduced growth as well I also had issues in the past so they were not taking any chances this time. The c section went fine, baby was fine on the small size but perfect 😍

I had an elective c-section, as baby had to join the world at 28 weeks. The experience was delightful, recovery was… hard. But I don’t regret my choice. If you want I can go into details.

Have I delayed..

I am wondering if I have delayed sending my LO to childcare she is nearly 16 months and is still at home I have seen some comments and posts where mums are sending their LO's to childcare from 8, 9months.. i just hope i haven't left it too long and it doesn't impact their development. My LO is very sociable starts off shy but warms up and loves to play.

Went in for my induction yesterday at 36w 3d due to slowed growth, pessary went in at midday.

Doctors appointment (am I overreacting?)

Had a doctors appointment yesterday due to being on 2 lots of antibiotics for a uti. I ended up have an allergic reaction to the second lot which left me with a rash on my face and peeling skin down below. I was given an appointment with a male nurse which is fine, slightly embarrassing but fine. I was in the doctors for over an hour, went in explained and he put the arm band on wrong twice for my blood pressure, couldn’t get the pulse device on my finger correctly and had me put in on upside down (never seen that) then had to do a sample which was still showing a uti where he was looking at it for over 5 minutes. Had to go out so he could get a chaperone to inspect down below, over half an hour I get called in to have a receptionist there whilst I had no tissue to put over me and they’re both standing there looking at me naked from my stomach to my toes. He then asked me to basically open up my vagina so he could look, no swab to see what was causing the soreness, no touching to see himself, nothing. I ended up in tears on the bed because I was mortified and that’s when they said would you like something to put across you to cover yourself up so the doctor can look like that. He then sent me out again to ask a doctor what to give me for down below. Today the skin around my bum and vagina is bleeding due to the irritation and I’ve got a cream but no idea what is causing it. I’ve left with still no clue as to what’s going on as it just felt like a shambles in there. Am I overreacting to feel like that was really unprofessional?

5 weeks post c section.. done too much

Can anyone help me please. I had a c section 5 weeks ago tomorrow. I started driving Sunday and doing a bit more and I think iv done too much. The right side of my incision is so painful to touch. It's still scabby in places and it feels like it's pulling. My mum is coming to help me today but my partner has been on nights the past 3 nights is IV had to do it all alone so no real way I can just lay down.
Will I have pulled my insides? I feel like IV gone back so far I spent all night crying

Consultant AND MW appointments

Has anyone successfully declined Midwife appointments? I am now under the consultant and have appointments with the consultant and midwife just 2 days apart each time and it is absolutely pointless as they do all the same checks at the consultant appointment (BP, urine etc.) alongside the growth scan and an appointment with my diabetes mw. I am just struggling to fit it all in. I'm still working this is my 2nd, I'm having an elective c section and my MW can't answer any questions for me (I've tried asking!) I have been told by a consultant midwife I know that there's no need to do both as I'm over 31 weeks now and they do more checks at the consultant appointments. Anyone have any similar experience?

Suffering from severe gender disappointment

I found out the gender of my baby last week at my 20w anatomy scan and it's a boy. I really wanted a girl😭😭😭 Is it possible that the Dr might be wrong???😭
I never saw anything on the screen nor did I get a printout. Free healthcare in my country is just nonsense....
