Hello ladies š
Ive always struggled with anxiety but it has been manageable to a point.
Since having my youngest 2 years ago my anxiety has slowly gotten worse to the point i was spiraling daily.
I started seeing a occupational therapist about 6 months ago, then around 2 months ago i started with really bad health anxiety also.
When I saw my therapist about 4.5 weeks ago we decided medication might be the best way forward.
I called docs next day and got prescribed propranolol 40mg x 1 a day... they helped my heart palpitations and with getting hot and sweaty but i find i stuffer with a tense jaw and they dont seem to be helping with that š
Anyway, last week i called again to speak about my meds, the doctor has now prescribed me citalopram 10mg once a day and upped my propranolol to twice a day.
Think im on day 7 now of citalopram and side affects havent been too bad.. i decided to take it before bed.
I have been suffering with bad head aches and waking up alot in the night/early mornings.. im also absolutely knackeredš„ŗ im soo exhausted all the time anyway to the point I asked docs for a blood test to make sure all is ok and it is but now with these tablets im feeling alot more drained.
Did anyone else get extreme fatigue from these and did it improve? š¤ also if theres any successful stories etc i would love some great feedback.
First time taking medication for my anxiety and abit nervous about it xx

Most anxiety medications do cause fatigue. I'm not sure I know of any that don't. How is your BP?

Iām on citalopram too and Iāve had my dose increased before, so I completely get being nervous about starting it š¤ The adjustment period can be a bit rough and 7 days is still really early, so I wouldnāt panic yet if youāre feeling more tired/headachy than usual. Iād give it a little time, but if the exhaustion is really affecting you, definitely speak to your doctor rather than just pushing through it. For me it was worth sticking with and giving my body time to adjust. Hopefully the side effects settle for you soon š¤š„ŗ xx

i was the same with anxiety after my second, i was put on sertraline and propranolol, the sertraline has been upped over time and i am now on 150mg sertraline and the two propranolol if and when needed. the first couple of weeks after it's been upped it does give me terrible headaches and fatigue but once they're in my system in definitely calms down. on days when my anxiety is really bad or on a day i have to do something that sets my anxiety off badly, i am completely mentally and physically wiped afterwards when the adrenaline has worn off and the next day too.

Citalopram can be REALLY stimulating for some people, like you feel like youre on drugs, strongly advise not taking it at night ! But also it takes like a month or so to settle down. If you cant find a good balance with the GP ask for a referral to a mental health nurse or psychiatrist because honestly GP only get a 45 min seminar on this stuff

I turn 27 this month and my husband and I are broke. I am a stay at home mom with our first (and only) baby. Before having our son, I was in such a good position in my career and now I feel like Iāve started over. Iām in my late 20ās with nothing to show. Y this normal/common? I feel like a failure and Iām anxious to return to work, but I have a Velcro baby and also want to just enjoy his early years.

I am pregnant with my first baby and planning on taking 18months mat leave. I know it will go by fast.
My mom was a full time sahm and it was so nice to have her around more growing up. I know itās not an easy job but I always thought I would like to be a sahm too when kids came into the pictureā¦at least when they are really little.
I have a good career but itās busy and stressful at times. I am lucky I can work from home 50% but I just wish I could focus on family life for the next whileā¦.i just donāt know how to do it or where to start . The world we live in is expensive, kids are expensive so we really do need two incomes unless have a plan on how to make this thought realistic.
How do you full time sahm do it? Have i missed the ātrickā?
Iāve looked into starting a business ie E-commerce but there is so much to know itās overwhelming tbh and still not clear if itās worth efforts.
Does anyone have any suggestions or am I living in a fantasy thinking being a sahm is even possible?

I had this weird feeling and I checked his phone right now and I found out when I was working 3rd shift on Friday he had someone over to our apartment and they had sex. I had cramps that night and apparently it was right as the girl came over so Iām convinced it was my tuition. He even answered my texts while she was over. She knows about me.
I am 8 months pregnant and we just signed a new lease. I donāt know how to cope with this but now I donāt want to sleep in the bed I donāt want to be on the couch I donāt want to look at him I just feel so disgusted and disgusting. We havenāt had sex for weeks.
Iāve stressed this entire pregnancy and I feel like thatās why my baby is measuring small. He went from 75th percentile to 34th between 19-28 wks.
I feel like my pregnancy experience has been robbed from me. I feel so ugly

Would I be wrong for just blocking every dead conversation that I have on here because I feel like it's clearly a waste of time I've interacted with many mothers on here but it's like after a few days. The conversation goes nowhere. Why are we like this?
