Please help! My 1.5 year old hasn’t stopped biting at daycare. If she bites 3 more times they are kicking her out. Please any suggestions help. I’m at a loss and I don’t want her to lose her routine. Her 3.5 year old sister goes to the same daycare and is thriving.

How many times has she bitten that you’ve got 3 more chance? And also is there a trigger that causes her to bite? Has anything been put in place for her by the nursery?
Also she’s at the stage where her communication will be coming in and she’ll be getting frustrated not being able to communicate with her peers and staff about what she wants x

Is she teething? Can you give teethers for them to use for a bit? That’s insane they would kick her out. My toddler went through this phase at daycare - mostly when kids were in her space/close to her. She’s over it for now! But it lasted about two weeks. And she bit me too. But the teachers just let me know daily when she was doing it and that’s it. They would try to get to her before she bit if she seemed frustrated. Ugh I’m sorry! Can you visit the class? Let them know ur doing everything possible to get past this phase…

Gosh this is a safety issue. I know a girl who has permanent facial scarring because someone bit her face as a toddler. Why she’s biting is irrelevant. She needs to learn a firm boundary on this one and figure out other means to communicate what she wants.
Does she bite at home? My son bit me twice and I bit him right back. Not enough to actually hurt him, just enough that he understood what was happening and he didn’t like it. And then we did Supernanny’s naughty spot method of discipline. Hitting, biting, punching, throwing toys all warranted naughty spot.

I need help with this too. My twins won't stop biting each other, I've noticed it's when they are in each other's bubble or trying to take what the other has. No matter what I do, they keep biting.

I’m not an expert, just a mom who’s been through this phase. They are doing it a lot of times b/c they can’t communicate what they want or how they feel and they get very frustrated.
I had a teacher in his class that was just a really good teacher, she kept her eyes on him alot and intervened anytime he appeared frustrated. I started to notice the only time he’d have an incident was when this teacher was absent b/c she was the only one that went the extra mile. He grew out of it once he started talking better. Talk to one of the teachers and see if they can pay closer attention to her until this phase passes. I been there it’s rough, I was getting constant calls, hang in there!

It’s so controversial of me to say, but when I was young and I went through this phase, I bit my dad. In response, he bit me back (obviously not too hard)…I never bit again.

I had the same with my son and he did get expelled, he was biting everyday. He never did it at home and didn't bite any of his friends that I socialised him with. He moved to a new nursery and has never bitten a child there. I'm not sure if it was the trauma of being sent home and not allowed to go back that stopped him or the new nursery being a better setting for him. But don't be disheartened if she does end up being removed because it may actually be better for her (although total nightmare if you have to go to two different drop offs) good luck, much as it's horrible if your child is bitten it's also horrible when you are the parent of the biter.

Hi I used to be a 1s teacher. And the biting stage can be ROUGH! Hang in there. Is she biting at home or just at school? See if she can use a teething necklace so that she can have something to bite instead of other kids. https://a.co/d/0ahb9AFU. We had a chronic biter in my class it helped a little. Sometimes moving them out of the class with different kids/teachers helps also.
Everyone warned me about the first three months being very demanding and difficult but now that we have overcome, I want to share that you will sleep again, you’ll start to enjoy routines and their smiles get bigger so it makes it all worth it 😀

Without providing any context I know it's hard, but my husband and I are in a bad place. I want to repair things. Please just check this and see if it's fair/makes sense/is clear about my intention?

When did you start to put them in their cot in their own bedroom for daytime naps?

Please can any recommend a good carrier, my little girl is 4 months old, I want one with good neck support so I don’t have the hold her head from bobbing about so much when she falls asleep if that makes sense. I currently have a baby bjorn & I hate it. I need one with good back support also!! Thanks 😊😊

Just out of curiosity when did your LOs start sleeping through the night?
I know sleep regressions exist and each baby is different but wondering if there is some kind of average.
Our LO is 6 weeks and goes between 3-5h at night, aware there is still a way to go!

My little one is five months old and she refuses to sleep during the day. If we manage to get her down she’s either in the pram or after a feed. At night she feeds and then sleeps but wakes after an hour and a half to feed again or screams. Her wake windows can be over four hours long. I know that’s too long and I’m exhausted and emotional. Any advice would be appreciated.
