Post birth period

Hey, I experienced the exact same thing. My son was born on the 3rd of June and my first period came on the 11th of July. I had an emergency C-section and I wasn’t expecting my period to come back so soon. It was extremely heavy. I went to the GP and they put me on blood thinning medication. And my period just wouldn’t stop it was consistent so I decided to go on the injection contraception to stop my periods as they were extremely painful. I would prefer to go through labour again instead of having period pains.

I gave birth on 9th May and had my first period at the end of July and it was absolutely horrific, changing hourly it was just awful, like nothing I’d experienced before! But I had my second one at the end of August and it was heavy but nothing like how it was the first time, it was a dream tbh in comparison if you can even say that about a period🤣🫣
I will say having a baby has made me regular again as before I had my son I was having a period every 60 days, and I am now back to 28 day cycles x

Both first periods were heavy for me but returned to normal after that cycle. Lighter than pre babies and shorter.

It’s very normal. It’s a full system restart after a year or more with no period.

As a C-section mum too, it’s the first time having your uterine scar tissue contract with cramps. That can cause more pain than normal but it gets better next month.
