just wanting peoples opinions on not having a next to me crib i have a mama and papas crib would this be okay to put my newborn (when she’s here) straight away obviously following safe sleep guidelines. the reason im feeling this way is due to me my partner and all my baby stuff are all sharing a room so just wanting to save space and save money on another thing they will only be in for a couple months. i’m also thinking it’s a good idea as i know a few family members who are now struggling to have their babies sleep in their cot. ( the mamas and papas cot is next to my bed anyways so it’s not as if i have walk to the crib in the middle of the night ) all opinions appreciated thank you!!

Absolutely fine. As long as the baby stays in the same room as you for 6 months minimum and they have a good mattress which meets the guidelines along with a clear cot etc like you say, next2me’s are not essential ☺️

I second above. Next to me cribs are just popular for ease, as you can bring the side down, also in the early weeks a lot of babies like to feel abit snug, so sleeping in smaller spaces. I’ve found this with my second baby, he preferred to be in enclosed/cosy spaces and would shuffle to the side of his cot with his face right up against the mesh side. I agree that it’s another added expense, so I’d just go with the cot that you have, and if you have any trouble with baby not liking it then you can try different options from there x

I think next to me cots are so popular because most bedrooms don't have enough room for a full sized cot. Save the money! Some cot beds last until aged 4 and can have one side removed so you can use it as a next-to-me anyway

I do not regret getting one as sometimes simply extending my hand over calms the little one and he goes back to sleep... BUT I'm suffering with back pain ever since he was born and getting out of the bed while the crib takes half the lenght of the bed is a challenge. It gets to a point that I'm considering moving the crib away from the bed, which defeats it's purpose and I'm considering getting a cot bed to replace it sooner than I was planning (also hoping that the timing will ease the transition).
Go with your gut feeling - especially if the cot will be close to your bed anyway!
And perhaps consider one that can be transitioned to a toddler bed down the line and you will save a bit of cash in the future
My 1 year old has never slept through the night once no matter what I do , has anyone got any advice for me on 20 yr old first time mum and struggling of a night time

So I've followed the trial on Lindsay Clancy and now my algorithm is full of things on it. Since the mistrial I've seen so many creators posting complete lies about PPD and PPP. Not every mother who has/had it will annihilate Thier families or themselves. They are 2 VERY different things and seem to be being used interchangeably.
Mental health is a real issue and with all this misinformation and judgement surrounding it now it seems even less likely than before that people will try reach out for help. I can completely understand the desire to have her locked up and the key thrown away, but not guilty due to mental state isn't a new defence, in her state the prosecution has to prove she was criminally responsible. Also 11 people didn't think the prosecution proved that she was criminally culpable due to her mental health, that is the law. I am certain if ANY of her/the kids family thought the kids life were at risk they wouldn't have taken the risk so people blaming them is also just annoying me... Am I the only person with a nuanced view on this case!?

Hi guys! We was using the Aldi mamia nappies but my 1 month old boy keeps leaking through the back onto clothes, can anyone recommend a different brand?

My 7 week old seems to struggle sleeping at night unless it’s literally in my arms or in his swing chair in the evening, co sleeping isn’t an option for us as my partner is such a deep sleeper I just don’t feel comfortable with it so often I’m on the sofa with the baby, I’ve got a next to me crib and a Moses basket and he just seems to hate both of them! I’ve tried all different things, he transfers fine just doesn’t seem to sleep for long in them, maybe an hour max! But if he’s in my arms or swing he’s doing 2-3 hour stretches? Just not sure what to do!

My little boy is only 4.5 months old but so far he’s met every milestone early. The last few days he keeps rolling on his tummy and then lifting his bum up and moving his legs like he’s trying to crawl. Obviously he can’t and he gets so upset screaming and crying, but as soon as I roll him on his back he’s straight back on his tummy crying again 😩 is this just something I have to wait out until he learns how to do it?
