I would think so? I have started combi feeding and have been referred to a lactation consultant who called me today to make an appointment (we want to make sure that baby does not have a tongue tie - started combi feeding because he's not gaining weight as he should). When we spoke, I basically said I bought and use the Eufy breastpump and she flat out told me she's never heard of it? I'm a little concerned about her knowledge in other areas because I would expect a lactation consultant to know all about the current trends surrounding expression of breastmilk and breastfeeding / combi feeding. What are your thoughts? She also advised me not to top up with formula even though our health visitor and GP advised us to do so because our little man needs to gain a bit of weight! She wants me to EBF for the next week until we get to see her - I am sorry but in a weeks' time my boy may well fall another centile (he's already fallen two) and I am NOT willing to risk it.

That pump is fairly new. There are literally dozens of them out there, it's more of the style that matters than the actual pump brand in my opinion. My lactation consultant could give me advice on the types of pumps out there but it's like asking them what diaper brand they like. It really doesn't matter that much, so long as you find something that works for you and how you are using it.

Have her measure for flange measurements. As for not tooing up tell her he already fell under 2 percentiles in weight and I don't feel comfortable to do that...her understanding is she wants to see if he is latching and doesn't want him to get lazy with a bottle. Also to see how your output is...but if you are uncomfortable with her you can request another. š¤·š»āāļø

Formula will tank your supply - GPs/HVs have painfully little breastfeeding knowledge so their advice is always ājust top up with formulaā because they donāt know what else to do. If your goal is to EBF you want to get rid of the formula as soon as possible. If you want to top up with formula you must make sure youāre pumping every bottle given.
They cannot possibly know every pump on the market and they will likely favour more established brands that have a proven track record rather than something very new. Regardless of pump though they can help with flange fitting and ways to pump to increase your supply such as micro pumping x

Eufy is a new brand to the pump market. They started out making security cameras I think....I had a eufy camera 6 years ago. It's not something I would judge a lactation consultant over.
Formula will not help your supply, so whilst I understand the concerns over weight loss, the LC is trying to preserve your supply long term as well as treating the current issue

Thats a new pump. And that brand usually does home security, so im not surprised she doesnt know. Also im sure they mostly work with people who purely breastfeed, pumping isnt necessarily their domain so they dont need to know specific brand pumps. Thats almost irrelevant to their job x

Also, its her job to tell you not to top up with formula. She is the breastfeeding specialist, not the HV or the GP. Her advice is exactly right.

I agree here with the lactation consultant because your baby can definitely put on weight with breastmilk alone when producing enough and feeding properly (which is what she wants to assess). My little boy is in the 97th percentile and he is EBF.
Your HV/GP will tell you to top up with formula as they donāt have the expertise in how to get your baby to properly latch and get enough breastmilk and/or potentially increase supply. The lactation consultant will have that knowledge. If you interfere now with a bottle and formula, the consultant wonāt be able to properly assess you and your baby without any interference, plus not offering your baby the boob will affect your supply.
Has anyone found anything that genuinely helps hair getting thicker? I used to have the thickest hair, down to my bum. Then after I had my son it just wonāt stop falling out. Even now, Iām nearly 15 months PP and every day clumps of hair are falling out, even when Iām sleeping and roll over strands of hair get wrapped around my neck or hands. My hair line is so thin you can just see scalp, and if it wasnāt for how long it is, Iād genuinely look bald. Really starting to worry and stress out about it.

My baby is 7 months and never taken on or used a pacifier and I am wanting to get him to take one in the evening.
Has anyone successfully gotten their baby to take a paci at such an older age? If so, I how did you do it? What strategies did you have?
TIA x

Iām looking to give away a bunch of my breast milk if anyone needs any. Iām collecting an average of 60oz every 24 hours so my deep freezer is FULL. I donāt want to have to pour it out because I know there are moms/babies in need. PLEASE reach out if you are interested or know of someone who could use it.

My LO will be 4 months old tomorrow, EBF and has a high energy temperament.
He seemed to hit the regression about 4 weeks ago when he started waking hourly at night. Iām absolutely exhausted and he isnāt even 4 months yet. I 90% of the time feed back to sleep as itās easier than rocking.
I use huckleberry so watch wake windows, sleepy signals and have been playing around with length of naps but nothing seems to help. He also feeds pretty well during the day so not worried he is relying on night calories. I bring him into bed with me after the first couple of wakes just because he goes down quicker but I donāt really sleep as Iām scared to.
Mums who have been through this before, does it get better on its own or am I going to have to do some kind of training?
Iām on the brink already, this isnāt sustainable. And this surely canāt be good for him waking so regularly?

Hi guys, my baby is 17 weeks and is close to touching both ends of the next to me
And can reach both sides with his arms. He can almost roll but wouldnāt have the space to in this crib.
What are we doing when they outgrow? Move into big cot in a separate nursery or are you bringing a big cot into the bedroom? (Not sure it will fit!)
Heās currently at the 4 month regression and waking about 10 times a night so the thought of having to go to a different room feels painful at the moment. Any advice welcomed!
