My twins are 13 weeks now (6 weeks corrected) and I’d say the last week or so when it hits 6pm twin 1 will become absolutely hysterical, crying uncontrollably and literally nothing will calm him down. We’ll go through the cycle of nappy change, bottle, burp, cuddle, rocking, taking him for a walk in the pram or even just sitting outside with him to calm him down but nothing works and then he sets off the other twin. It’s getting to the point where both me and my husband dread the evenings and then start snapping at each other because we’re both trying different things to calm him down. I assume this is probably witching hour/s but it’s unbearable currently and as soon as I finally get them to sleep I have to hide in the bathroom just for a 10 minute cry lol.
Any tips on how to get through it and how long this stage might last?

My health visitor said between week 6-10 are the hardest weeks because they have such a big development in the brain and the stomach is maturing, not to mention physical growth. My little boy was the same for a good few hours he wouldn’t settle. He is 11 weeks now and I feel the last 2 weeks he has settled. Im not sure how things work with premie babies development but I would imagine they are going through this big change! Hang in there xx

Hold on tight, you’re doing amazing 🫶🏼 ride the storm it will get better, when our baby got to this stage we used to I’ll offer an extra small (2/3oz bottle), sometimes it worked sometimes it didn’t.
In regard to snapping at one another, I don’t care what anybody says .. NORMAL !! You’re both overstimulated, I bin bagged my fella once over an episode like this 🤣 it does get better though I promise !
Also, we’re in the same area, if you fancy a coffee or anything I’d be more than happy to meet with you to allow venting with zero judgement 🥰 xx

My little one is the same age and is also going through the same; it’s so tough and heart breaking. We’ve also been told he’s showing early signs of teething which isn’t helping his irritability 😩
However we’ve found a warm bath before a big bottle and bed helps calm him down, also white noise and low lights; keep him close to you with extra cuddles🫶
It’s tough going through it with one so I can’t imagine how it must be with two, you’re doing amazing; don’t be hard on yourself, it will pass❤️
Do you allow family members to tickle your child? I personally find it really hard to watch as I hate being tickled, and although my daughter is kind of smiling i don’t think she enjoys it. How do you tell them to stop doing it? Or am I being over the top?
My daughter is almost 15 months

My 3month old has started to keep drinking while she falls asleep? As in, Im nursing her, shes suckling, and then she nods off but...just keeps suckling? Lazily, but definitely still chomped on. She fights me when I try to break the seal, and if I dont remove the nipple from her she'll sleep-suckle for 20, 30min easily. When I do remove it successfully she wakes a few minutes later, absolutely furious!
Is this a 3month thing? My poor nipples 😢

How soon after your sections did you go for a bath, I’ve read your not meant to soak the scar/wound in a bath but doesn’t say when you can 🫣 sometimes a shower just doesn’t cut it for “me time” 😅
Also how are people keep it dry, I have a slight overhang so looking for the best way to keep the scar dry without rubbing it with a towel like I want too!

Is it just me or do most MIL’s constantly criticise the way you parent as a mum. She has never really seen my husband do much other than hold baby or change the occasional nappy, and that apparently makes him the best dad in the world! Meanwhile I do everything as the mum and she has never said anything like that to me. Not even the slightest compliment, and I know that I’m trying my best but how do I not let this get to me. My husband doesn’t even offer to take the baby for a while whilst I rest or take a shower, I have to ask!! It might be the postpartum hormones taking over but I just want to be able make it clear to her that I take care of the baby 95% of the time.

What time are you putting your 3 month olds to bed at night? Mine I do 9pm but I’m worried that this is too late?

We started out with a combo of breast feeding and bottle feeding (formula and expressed milk) but I found breast feeding is just easier, quicker, less dishes.
Baby girl is coming up on 8weeks old and my partner is very uncomfortable with me breastfeeding with anyone around. I do my best to be discreet and respectful of his feelings but babies run on baby time. He won’t let me feed our baby if we are in public, I have to go to the car. If his family is over to see the baby I have to leave the conversation and go to another room while they continue to visit.
Has anyone else’s partner been uncomfortable? How did you navigate the conversation of “I’m going to feed our baby- idc if it makes you uncomfortable” without a huge fight?
Thanks in advance for any thought or advice!
