I have a daughter who will be 5 in December and I have suspected she has ADHD for a very long time. I put in a referral at our GP (I am UK based) and filled out all the forms including with her preschool however our referral was then denied as they can’t assess until she is at least 6 years old. Despite that I still try to treat and care for her as if she has a diagnosis to better understand her behaviour however recently I am really struggling! Especially bedtimes. She used to go into her room alone from age 3 and would happily put herself to sleep after a bedtime story and with some white noise. However the last 3/4 weeks bedtime has been HELL. She will go into her room for around an hour (won’t sleep) then suddenly come running out crying and screaming and saying she doesn’t want to sleep without me there , when I try to redirect her back to bed she will hit, slap, bite, scratch, throw things around the room, scream at me and say things like “I don’t care” and this can go on for almost an hour. Does anyone have any advice on how to manage this ? I really don’t want to give in by letting her sleep in my bed every night as it took me 3 years to get her into her own room in the first place 😣

Have you tried to decipher why she doesn’t want to sleep without you? Is she scared? Is there a monster under her bed? Is it fomo? Does she have a night light? Is she beginning to have separation anxiety?
I would try and figure out what the root of the problem is before immediately letting her climb in your bed. BUT I would see if maybe you can sit in the room with her while she goes to sleep, is it inconvenient….yes, but it’s an alternative to having her climb in bed with you.
I say all this as a mum with a teen girl and a almost 6 year old boy who both have adhd but are polar opposites, my teen basically never slept in my bed, my boy though we have been bed sharing since he was a babe and then carrying him to his own bed 😅 only recently has he been going to sleep in his own bed with or without me
Do you allow family members to tickle your child? I personally find it really hard to watch as I hate being tickled, and although my daughter is kind of smiling i don’t think she enjoys it. How do you tell them to stop doing it? Or am I being over the top?
My daughter is almost 15 months

My 3month old has started to keep drinking while she falls asleep? As in, Im nursing her, shes suckling, and then she nods off but...just keeps suckling? Lazily, but definitely still chomped on. She fights me when I try to break the seal, and if I dont remove the nipple from her she'll sleep-suckle for 20, 30min easily. When I do remove it successfully she wakes a few minutes later, absolutely furious!
Is this a 3month thing? My poor nipples 😢

How soon after your sections did you go for a bath, I’ve read your not meant to soak the scar/wound in a bath but doesn’t say when you can 🫣 sometimes a shower just doesn’t cut it for “me time” 😅
Also how are people keep it dry, I have a slight overhang so looking for the best way to keep the scar dry without rubbing it with a towel like I want too!

Is it just me or do most MIL’s constantly criticise the way you parent as a mum. She has never really seen my husband do much other than hold baby or change the occasional nappy, and that apparently makes him the best dad in the world! Meanwhile I do everything as the mum and she has never said anything like that to me. Not even the slightest compliment, and I know that I’m trying my best but how do I not let this get to me. My husband doesn’t even offer to take the baby for a while whilst I rest or take a shower, I have to ask!! It might be the postpartum hormones taking over but I just want to be able make it clear to her that I take care of the baby 95% of the time.

What time are you putting your 3 month olds to bed at night? Mine I do 9pm but I’m worried that this is too late?

We started out with a combo of breast feeding and bottle feeding (formula and expressed milk) but I found breast feeding is just easier, quicker, less dishes.
Baby girl is coming up on 8weeks old and my partner is very uncomfortable with me breastfeeding with anyone around. I do my best to be discreet and respectful of his feelings but babies run on baby time. He won’t let me feed our baby if we are in public, I have to go to the car. If his family is over to see the baby I have to leave the conversation and go to another room while they continue to visit.
Has anyone else’s partner been uncomfortable? How did you navigate the conversation of “I’m going to feed our baby- idc if it makes you uncomfortable” without a huge fight?
Thanks in advance for any thought or advice!
