Still breastfeeding?

Anyone else still breastfeeding? Have you tried weaning or what are your plans?

I always planned to go 1year and after his birthday I've started weaning on pumping while I'm at work since that was the most annoying part. We co-sleep so he is still nursing probably 2-3 times a night. He's also started to actually ask to nurse during the day by pulling on my shirt. I never really thought I'd be into extended breastfeeding, but it seems like so much work wean now. I would love to have my body be mine for a couple of months before we start trying for baby #2, but I do love closeness. I'm just feeling very conflicted as he is going to be 13months tomorrow

Girl. I feel this so much. I also stopped pumping and we are trying to drop feeds but I have literal anxiety about how to do our naps cosleeping or when he wakes up in the middle of the night and I feed him to go back to sleep.

i feel this! i’m still breastfeeding, i planned on stopping when she turned 1. she’ll be 13 months in a couple of weeks and i also really want my body back, i stopping pumping completely and exclusively nurse her. she nurses during the night a few times sometimes more but i really want to stop i just don’t know where to start. she also started pulling on my shirt as well but i notice when i tell her “let’s wait a little for more milk” or “let’s have some milk later” “let’s have a snack” she kind of listens and goes and does her own thing. i told myself i might just give her until shes 18 months but i know the longer i hold off the harder it will be. i definitely want my body back but i also love feeling so bonded! this is so hard 😩

I’m also conflicted and still pumping/breastfeeding. My baby wakes a similar amount of times at night and with my babies they’ve had trouble sleeping without the night feeds despite theoretically not needing them and eating well during the day. I do have big babies. With my older one he just stopped night feeds on his own. For a while he needed an extra bottle/feed at 11 and then later all of a sudden started sleeping through the night (I think he was almost 2). So my husband insists he wants to let the baby take the lead and we follow her cues.

I wish I could stop pumping and sleep more through the night, but I also don’t want to give up the nights when I’m home and breastfeeding. The time I have with her is so quiet and special, especially juggling 2 now I don’t always get that 1:1 time with her except with breastfeeds. But the baby (actually she’s 13 months) skipped a feed last night and last week she skipped a few feeds so maybe she’s on the path to weaning herself soon.

I'm going to breastfeed my daughter until she's ready to stop... She sleeps through the night on her own for months. I'm just going to follow her lead on what she needs within reason. Just do what you think is best for your baby, and sometimes that may mean doing what is best for their momma because a happy, calm momma is one of the most important things for their healthy development!

I'm in almost an identical spot. 13mo, want to wean before baby #2, baby #1 still waking 2-3 times a night to nurse. My son has been refusing the bottle during the day sometimes so I thought he was ready to stop nursing but he's come back to it. Most guidelines recommend 2yrs+ if achievable, so I think we will keep going as the health benefits, long and short term, seem worth the effort

Partner won’t let me stop breastfeeding!! RANT

I love, love my baby! But I’m tired of breastfeeding. LO is currently 14 months+ with so many teeth coming in, and I’m ready to stop BF. I actually wanted to stop at 12 months, but my partner begged me to give her a bit more time. Now, at 14 months, he’s guilt-tripping me into continuing!

Last night, I tried not to do the usual night BF. LO was fussing, and I tried consoling her until she eventually fell asleep. But before that, my partner went on a rant, saying I didn’t discuss it with him first before deciding to stop, that I can’t just stop abruptly, and that I should let the baby stop when she’s ready.

It turned into an argument because I was trying to explain to him that she probably won’t stop if I don’t guide her to, and I’ll have to stop one day anyway, no??

He made me feel like such a bad mum, saying I don’t care about the child.

Bad day?

I’m wondering if any other moms have experienced something similar postpartum, because I’m having a bit of an off day mentally and could really use some perspective.

I’m about 2.5 weeks postpartum, and while I absolutely love my baby and feel incredibly grateful he’s here, postpartum has been much harder on me mentally than I expected.

The first couple of days I was extremely anxious about basically everything. I felt safest at home and found it really difficult to leave the house. Even getting to the driveway felt like a huge accomplishment. I’ve slowly been pushing myself to get out more, and there have been days where I feel like I’m making progress, but then I’ll have an “off” day and feel like I’m back at square one.

My anxiety can also feel very physical — faint, jittery, tingly, like I need to get somewhere safe. I’m also constantly worrying about the baby. Every change in his sleep, feeding, diapers, spit-up, noises, etc. can make my brain immediately jump to something being wrong, even though I know so much of this is normal newborn stuff.

On top of that, I’m incredibly sleep deprived. My husband is really trying to help, but I’m still doing most of the overnight wake-ups, and I’ve realized I’ve somehow convinced myself that his sleep is more important than mine. I’m starting to feel some resentment, which I feel guilty about because I know he’s trying.

And I think I’m also grieving my old life a little. I’m completely in love with my baby and wouldn’t trade him for anything, but I can also miss my freedom, my routine, my relationship, and the person I was before becoming a mom. I didn’t realize how big of an identity shift this would be.

I guess I’m just looking to hear from other moms who have been through this. Did you feel constantly anxious or afraid to leave the house? Did you have physical panic symptoms or constantly worry about your baby? Did you have good days followed by really hard ones?

When did you start feeling more like yourself again, and what actually helped?

Where would you put a toddler bed in this room?

This is what he has in his room so far. I’m having a hard time putting a bed in here in my mind but I’m willing to move things around.

I don’t have it in me anymore

My LO is the worst sleeper omg I literally can’t keep getting up middle of the night and rocking him. I genuinely feel like pulling my hair out. He doesn’t sleep in his next to me and doesn’t even sleep on the bed with me just wants to lay on my chest. I genuinely can’t anymore. I cant even leave him to sleep (with monitor on of course and have an evening to myself. Hes 11 weeks almost 3 months, I thought things were supposed to get better 😭😭😭😭

Not sure I'm in love anymore

I am 13 weeks postpartum and I keep questioning whether I still love my husband or not. After I gave birth he was supportive but when we got home I started suffering with depression and he was so unsupportive! We've argued a lot, not as much now but I fear the damage is done, did anyone else experience anything simular and fall back in love?
