Hello! I have three kids and they’re all under 4. It is extremely difficult to take them all out at once and do things with all of them. I’m usually alone with them 24/7 as hubby works all the time. I’ve been wanting to take them to the park by myself but I’m so worried one of them is going to run away. Even when we go in the back of our unit they’re always darting different ways and trying to run to the street while the other runs to the other side of the building. It’s extremely difficult. I try to chase them but it turns into a game and is terrifying because then I have to manage the other two. I’ve tried setting up playdates so maybe we can just hang out and tag team all of our kids together but nobody seems willing. Which I mean they’re my kids so I get it but like I’d make sure someone else’s kid doesn’t run into the street haha. Anyways, the park does have a fence but there’s a whole open area that they could run past me and they could run around to get on either side of the roads. I had parents at an open park tell me their kids never needed leashes and they listen to them. It makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong with my parenting and I don’t even have a leash but idek what to do. Even packing up the car is a nightmare. We’ve tried put your hand on the car and having them by us and they end up like that bluey episode with the rain and the moms like please don’t go in there with wet feet lol but them trying to run away while putting their sibling in the car haha. Anybody else have little multiples and having a hard time logistically? How do you manage? Any tips?

Reins/leash and if they're an escape artist like mine, chest clips for pram etc. Also, the hoppie hammock is a lifesaver 👌🏻 If you would like any links, let me know

The way I would start teaching my kids their boundaries is with the wrist leashes and go for walks. As they walk they are going to want to pull and run, it's natural, but with the leashes you are able to bring them in to a safe distance from you while you also tell them within arms reach and where you can see them. Eventually, once you go to the park you can tell them those things and they will know.

Would it help if you spoke to them about the dangers of running away. I know it’s not nice but maybe they need to hear that they could get lost or someone could try and take them away etc. it might help them to think twice.
It might also help to set up some reward or consequence system for listening and staying close to mummy on days out etc. if they don’t listen and run off, they get something taken away and if they are really good, they get a small treat (doesn’t have to be something that costs a lot of money) it could be something as simple as choosing what to have for desert one day or an activity to do etc.
Advice needed, my husband and I went to a wedding this weekend. The whole experience was extremely stressful I think our 3 1/2 month old baby just got very very overstimulated and so spent most of the time crying and screaming and was very hard to settle. She also hates being in the car so the journey there and back was also very difficult. It was important that we went to the wedding though because it was my husband sister‘s wedding, tomorrow we have another family wedding and I’m really undecided on whether to go or not there’s no overnight stay so it will just be for the day. It’s about two hours each way lots of family will be there. Part of me thinks I should just power through and she may be ok, also most of his family hasn’t met the baby yet. …Give it my best go because it would be nice to see everyone and maybe she’ll do well but my experience this weekend has suggested to me that it might be a really really stressful experience. I’m also concerned because I don’t know if there are any quiet spaces where I’ll be able to take her if she is getting overstimulated do you think I should go or not?

My baby is showing all the signs and capable of holding her head up. I’m thinking of maybe just giving her some porridge of a morning. Would this be weird to just give her porridge for ‘breakfast’ whilst she’s not 6m as I feel because she’s not yet I don’t want to full wean.

So as the title states my husband spanked our 3 year old 7 times yesterday because she had a fit about getting out of the bath and telling him no. I was across the house but heard the spanking so I ran to where they were and told him to stop.
She has been testing her boundaries a lot this week which for the most part I have been able to handle and explain why certain things can’t go certain ways. I stay at home all week and he usually is home Sundays to play with them otherwise it’s me from the moment they wake up until right before they go to bed.
He woke up in a crappy mood due to a headache and I took both kids to the playground and made breakfast etc while he slept in.
When I stopped him and told him to get away from her he stomped off and I put on a little show while I went to talk to him. (This is the third time I’ve caught him spanking her and we have discussed it even before I’ve witnessed it)
He just sat there looking off into space and ignored everything I said and then said that clearly what I’m doing isn’t working for her “defiance”. This instance has left a terrible taste in my mouth. I am not sure what to do now. My daughter was terrified of him for the rest of the day and didn’t want to see him. I slept in my kids room with both of them last night and haven’t talked since yesterday to him after trying to talk and him not acknowledging his wrongdoing.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also my family is all 1000 miles away and we live near his family. I’m close with my MIL but this is her son.

Nursery told me they have some concerns about my child’s behaviour at the moment. She gets upset during transitions, has limited vocabulary, sometimes looks sideways, struggles to sit for long, and gets very attached to her keyworker which makes her frustrated when she has to share her. They’re observing her on Thursday and will call me afterwards to discuss what they think and what support she might need.
They think she has developmental delays?
