To go to a wedding or not?

Advice needed, my husband and I went to a wedding this weekend. The whole experience was extremely stressful I think our 3 1/2 month old baby just got very very overstimulated and so spent most of the time crying and screaming and was very hard to settle. She also hates being in the car so the journey there and back was also very difficult. It was important that we went to the wedding though because it was my husband sister‘s wedding, tomorrow we have another family wedding and I’m really undecided on whether to go or not there’s no overnight stay so it will just be for the day. It’s about two hours each way lots of family will be there. Part of me thinks I should just power through and she may be ok, also most of his family hasn’t met the baby yet. …Give it my best go because it would be nice to see everyone and maybe she’ll do well but my experience this weekend has suggested to me that it might be a really really stressful experience. I’m also concerned because I don’t know if there are any quiet spaces where I’ll be able to take her if she is getting overstimulated do you think I should go or not?

I took my 1 year old last year to a wedding. I was so concerned that he would be an issue but actually apart from a couple of cries he was absolutely fine. I would have totally convinced myself not to go but I am so glad we did

I just come back from a wedding f with my 14 week old. I had to leave mid ceremony as he pooped himself and was fussing but otherwise he was alright. There was a quiet space and my partner and other family members were just swapping to settle him so he wasn’t getting too overstimulated. Generally I’m actually surprised how well he did. I’m not gonna lie I was very anxious about taking him but I’m glad I did. Perhaps your little one will have a better day.

Do you have somewhere for her to comfortably sleep while there? It could have just been bad luck, that she was being handled while already over tired and then it's difficult to recover from that

I had my 2 year old and 3m old at the time at a kids free wedding they where the only kids as they are the godkids to the people who got married and they wanted them there, i was so stressed and scared they would ruin everything but it went so damn smooth i litrally stressed for nothing they had their moments after the reception but toddler ended up passing out in the pram and baby just slept in the carrier strapped to me.

If its going to be loud then i reccomend baby earmuffs helps them tune out the sounds to get their needed sleep

Give it a go. We recently had a big meet up with friends and my LO was a nightmare, really unsettled. We had another event a few days later and he was a different baby. Smiley and babbling away and going to anyone.

If it isn’t going well then you can always leave early. And don’t think of that as failure, see it as you gave it a go and it just didn’t work out this time. But your LO may surprise you.

Report to nursery or not...?

My husband works with the husband of one of the staff members at nursery. My oldest child had just left and gone to school, youngest is still there.

My husband's college asked today how our eldest is getting on at school, my husband said he's doing really well and his college replied saying that's good my wife said he was a little shit at nursery....

It's left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth when he told me about it. I'm not sure whether to speak to the room leader about it, if I do whether to actually give the staff members name or not and just ask for them to have a general word with all staff...? Or just leave it as I'm assuming she knew her husband works with my husband and that they're friendly?

First day of childcare

My 10 month little girl has gone to a childminder for the first full day. I’m really struggling and miss her so much. Anyone else finding it difficult? Her first name was loads shorter than usual, she hasn’t taken a bottle and not had much for lunch. Were your babies the same?

Looking for some support! ❤️

Is anyone weaning their babies?

My baby is showing all the signs and capable of holding her head up. I’m thinking of maybe just giving her some porridge of a morning. Would this be weird to just give her porridge for ‘breakfast’ whilst she’s not 6m as I feel because she’s not yet I don’t want to full wean.
