28 weeks appointment

Did anyone have a bad experience with doctor at the hospital? I had my appointment today and I have waited an hour. I finally got called in and he asked me why I’m here? I felt like that was a red flag as you made me wait then asked me why I’m here then had the nerve to speak really fast without eye contact. He didn’t introduce me two nurses in the room. One nurse started testing my blood pressure using the machine while I had to figure to answer his question. I’ve told him to check my records and the nurse told him my BP. While this was going on me and my partner was looking at each other on how rude he was. Then started coming up with all these terminology and said I wasn’t anemic and to not worry about anything. I said the level dropped so it is concerning and he goes dw we can review it around 36 weeks. I said midwife said I need a drip and he goes I deal with that and to not worry and said is there anything else? Then had the cheekiness to say should have done this on telephone consultation. I was baffled and went.

I had an appt with a doctor consultant with my last pregnancy and it was horrible! It was about me being put onto a high risk path and the doctor was telling me I need to give birth ok the labor ward with my vitals monitored. I told him that I had wanted a home birth and he asked me why I would want to risk my baby’s life and gave me all these still birth rates 😳… it was such a awful experience that when I got discharged “back to midwife” after having no issues with fetal growth at 36 weeks I cancelled my appt bc couldn’t bare to talk to a doctor again! I spoke to my midwife about it and they were helpful in talking through my experience.

Really sorry you had a bad experience! I’m sure not all doctor, but it felt like such a shock to the system after such wonderful midwife experiences I’ve had

The midwife weren’t the problem, I have midwife appointment at the practice. I just feel like male doctor in this industry have no disregard on how to approach pregnant women

Is it the consultant at the hospital? Unfortunately they don't actually seem to know why people are referred. I've been 3 times and have another appointment today where I am requesting to go back to midwife led. I sit in the appointment wasting both his and my time (they are ALWAYS late) unless you have a medical issue which means you need more monitoring I don't understand why they put people consultant led. I'm under them because I bled with my first, my second I was perfectly fine and home within an hour of having her and this is my third pregnancy

TMI (Sorry)

Sorry this is a bit TMI but ever since my first period after giving birth in January 2026, my perineum aches during my period. It aches so much but goes away after painkillers.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal?
