Nursing bras

I’m 33 weeks pregnant and attempting to find nursing bras in preparation for baby. Pre pregnancy I was a 32D and I’m pretty petite but my ribcage has expanded quite significantly and measuring around 34-35 inches currently.

I have two questions:
1. People who have experienced this (painful) rib expansion, did your body go back to how it was quite quickly?
2. What bras do people recommend? The sizing of all the different brands is driving me a bit mad. I’ve been wearing the M&S ones while pregnant with the removable padding but the fact it folds every time it goes in the wash drives me mad and also it’s starting to feel a bit tight.

I had m&s, primark and George asda ones! Its best to shop about and try them on!
I actually found next sports bras really comfy, there stretchy and easy to pull down and dont get tight around you!
Have you tried taking the pads out while washing? I know what you mean about the folding 🤯

Found the bralette style easier for now, couldn’t find any actual bras that fitted comfortably around the ribs that then didn’t have a huge gap in the cup size. Was going to wait to see if I can breastfeed, then try again

I ordered the moonlight&mama ones from shein they didn't have any padding or wiring in but they're very supportive and very very comfy x

M&S do a Lacey one for £10 which I’ve found to be quite good, I got two different colours, should have bought larger banded ones after reading the instructions on the label 🫣 as I was 32 but definitely more 34 now!

My ribs expanded 3 band sizes and never went back with my first, most maternity bras I found had zero support because they’re designed so as you grow they’re still comfy but then again that might be because I’m a ff😂 having my second now and no clue what nursing bras to get because they’re all boomin crop top style or actual bra ones don’t go above a d

M&S told me to wait until 38 weeks to get nursing bras as once baby drops your rib size falls. At 38 weeks the bras they sold me were all quite tight to allow for more of a reduction around the ribs. Personally didn't find this happened until about 8weeks pp and most of the bras were too tight in until then. I went back and bought more when baby was around 3 weeks old.

I got a 5 pack from amazon really comfy easy clip no uncomfortable wiring but very supportive. Alot cheaper than the m&s ones I have

Dummy’s

I’m exclusively BF and my newborn is only 11 days old and she definitely is cluster feeding and using me as comfort so I thought let me get newborn dummy small mam ones but she will not take them at all? Is there any others you reccomend or reccomend changing as I don’t want to just use me as comfort so I’m feeding her I want her to sleep longer periods during the night if possible so could give dummy as I did my other child and took it off him at 8 months old it worked fine but she doesn’t seem to want a dummy

Crying when changing nappy

Baby is 10 days old and cries so bad every time we change his nappy, is anyone else’s little one the same?
Is there anything we can do to try and calm him down?

Sick after bottle feeding

I just fed my 5 week old some formula ( 110ml ) and normally he burps well but he didn’t so I thought it’s fine. Put him down and he kind of projectile vomited some of the milk, made me panic. I picked him up and tried to burp him, he looked so uncomfortable but eventually settled and now I’m sat up in a chair scared to pop him down! Does that happen to many of you? He’s fast asleep now snoring away ( he snores normally )

Night duties

Hi my 15 week old is exclusively formula fed. I am on maternity leave and my husband works ft mon-fri. I do all night feeds and changes including weekends and when my husband takes days off as annual leave. Is this normal? Who does the nights for you? My baby usually wakes 2-3 times. At weekends he will usually take her from like 7am so I can sleep an extra hour or two upstairs. Sometimes I feel annoyed that he never even offers to do a night even at the weekend but maybe it’s normal for mum to do it … I appreciate it would likely be different for breastfed babies. Thanks.

Wake windows

For those who track wake windows and their baby doesn’t miss any naps during the day - are you noticing any difference in night time sleep? If they nap well during the day do they sleep better at night?
