I’d love to know people’s opinions on dummy’s, me personally I do not have a “crying” baby, she’ll cry if I miss her cues but that’s very rare as I know her all too well!! I think it’s each to their own, your going to mother your child the way you want to, and I respect that. But I do think dummy’s are a form of lazy parenting. Your baby doesn’t cry for no reason… what’s everyone’s opinions?

I think you're asking for a fight 😅 every baby is different and has different needs and you have to figure out what works for each individual baby. I know someone with twins and one twin uses a dummy and the other doesn't just cause the parents have followed their needs. Dummies have also been shown to help reduce the risk of SIDS too in those first 6 months. Everything has its place. Dont judge what you don't know.

Dummies are proven to reduce SIDS. They help improve the suck reflex and are given to premies to help them in hospital and also support after tongue tie division.
I haven’t used them for my eldest, or my current baby, but there are many valid reasons. And also, simply, because a parent feels a need to or desire to is good enough.

Wow keyboard warrior at its finest 🙄 If you’re so sure of your statement why post incognito?
Aside from reducing the risk of SIDs, dummies can help when a baby has reflux. It’s not about being a lazy parent and not being bothered about hearing them cry, when a baby is in pain from reflux you’d do anything to help them. It’s somethings that’s often recommended by drs and health visitors to help with reflux
Posting a judgemental post like this could really tip someone that’s already struggling over the edge so maybe next time think before you post

Funny how it’s an anonymous post

Dummies aren’t just for when they’re crying? So I don’t understand why you’ve implied that. Rage bait quite clearly, you should try a hobby or caring for your child rather than writing uneducated posts on an app.
And no, we don’t even use a dummy, but I’d never be that ignorant or uneducated to imply anyone who does is lazy. Also your child is what 4/5/6 weeks old? Pretty bold of you to be saying you’ll never use one hahahaha come back in a year. 🥴

We use one as it reduces the risk of SIDS and helps her with reflux and congestion!

How can you say you respect people's parenting choice but then call them lazy?
Just want to get everyone's opinions on jabs for their babies. I would never personally attack someone for their decision but I find whenever I post about this topic I always get personally attacked for having a different perspective. For reference, we as a family don't have them through personal choice, and children are thriving and hardly ever get sick!

I’m a FTM and since my LO was born (he’s 10 weeks currently) my MIL has insisted that she wants to spend the night with him, and keeps saying ‘you can leave him with me, just give me some bottles’. I’m no longer expressing and only direct BF and I have also told her that I am not comfortable yet with my baby spending the night away from me. I have also told her I am no longer expressing so that wouldn’t be an option anyway. I just can’t seem to wrap my head around why she would assume I would be comfortable being away from my baby so soon. Its giving me anxiety that if and when I decide to wean my baby that she will expect me to be okay with this and I still don’t think i’ll be comfortable with this in the future. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi all, since 4 months my baby still wakes every 1.5-2 hours crying and needing the dummy. Should we go cold turkey and get rid? Anybody else in the same boat?

What’s the difference between a tantrum and a meltdown?
