Hi all,
I am 8 weeks pp and my breastfeeding journey has been the worst thing ever! But I am still persevering! We were told my baby has a tongue tie and was booked in for a tongue tie division the following week, I have been experiencing the worst excruciating pain, like a burning shooting pain when he latches on, the skin around my nipples are sore and raw! Likes like toothpicks scraping whenever I breast feed, just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced the same thing and does it get better, I feel so defeated 😭

Have you tried feeding with shield’s? Or silverettes? Plenty of nipple cream? All this can help with nipple trauma. Shields may need to be weaned away but if you’re wanting the journey to continue it’s sometimes worth it. Bad latch can also impact supply if baby is ineffective at emptying the breast due to this so another thing to bear in mind. TT has such an impact on a feeding journey, don’t forget the post division exercises xx

Just know you’re not alone. I was exactly the same and he finally latched (though painfully!) around 5 weeks. Nipple shields really helped me take some (and I do mean only some) of the pain and gave my nipple a bit of a break but I’ve now stopped using them. I promise you it does get better, and your little one is lucky to have you persevere through the pain just so they can have the best. You’re doing an amazing job. Keep going! 🫶🏽

Once the tongue tie was sorted I no longer needed nipple cream! You may have to teach to latch again but it resolved the pain for me quickly

I’m the same as you. I tried nipple shields but my little one doesn’t want to breastfeed with them on. She had got better at latching last week and I thought we’d finally reached the other side, but she’s reverted to her poor latch this week, which I can correct in the day/light but is much harder to do in the dark at night. My nipples are sore and blistered and I’m using nipple cream every chance I get. Warm water/showers also help with the pain. All that to say: you’re not alone.

As soon as the TT is cut itll sort out the latch issues, which will stop the pain x

Might be worth also taking baby to a chiropractor. Both my babies had tongue-tie and it didnt instantly resolve the pain.
Also recommend you visit a local breastfeeding cafe if you have one in your area. They helped me soo much!
Ive ended up topping up both babies with formula as it worked for me.

My little boy had tongue tie also, had it cut after 1 week but I couldn’t breastfeed him for four weeks due to pumping for him and giving myself cracked nipples - whenever he latched it was excruciating and my husband ended up just telling me to stop until I was fully healed as I was bawling every time. Who knew you could get blood blisters on your nipples? 😅 he’s now 8 weeks and exclusively breastfed unless I’ve popped gym and he’s gotten hungry. It’s so tough, but so worth it in the end. Just remember fed is best & to give yourself some grace if you’re sore and struggling!
When did you first drive with just your baby in the back? I've got the full safe setup installed but I am still nervous to drive anywhere alone yet. My baby is 5 weeks old on Friday and there's a bf support group I want to attend but it's too far to walk there :(
When my husband drives I am in the back with my son, holding his head when there are sharp turns and potholes because he is still a bit too small for the car seat to be holding his head in place (apparently this is normal and still fine but it worries me!)

I'm 10 weeks postpartum and went to the doctor yesterday for our Mother and Baby check. When it got to me, the doctor said "can you lift up your stomach so I can see the scar" 🤣😭
...loool the way a little bit of me died inside. It's barely even an overhang and my stomach has healed really well! There's no flap. I found it funny but also a bit of a gut punch because it's taken me all 10 weeks to adjust to my new body, appreciate it for all it's done, given me, and start to accept/like it again. Any new mums had similar scenarios or finding it a struggle to adapt to liking your new mum body post C section?

I know it’s typically advised that the first wake window of the day is the shortest and the last one before bedtime be the longest but it seems it’s the opposite for my LO?
Shes 4 months and no matter when I start trying to wind her down for her naps she always falls asleep at the 2 hour mark (almost always on the dot). Her last ww before bedtime is then 1.5 hours most of the time. But then she’s waking up every 2 hours so could she be overtired?
Is this normal? Is there anything I should be doing differently?

Hi everyone, I’m needing some help with pram/travel system recommendations. We won’t be able to get a new car before baby arrives and it’s quite small! We have a Mini Cooper, so boot space is limited at the best of times. I’m after a pram where the bassinet is foldable too to take up as little space as possible because we ALSO have a dog that will sometimes be out with us and baby.
I’ve been looking at the dragonfly, cove 2 and upline 3 but I just wondered if anyone else has any recommendations.
Thank you ☺️

Hit 6 weeks with my little boy, he’s really irritable crying if not feeding, has all of a sudden started to get reflux symptoms, will fall asleep during feeds of a day the second you move he wakes up, nothing is working. He cry’s during burping and I don’t get burps out of him🙃 is it normal? Night feeding is a lot sleeps in his bed and hour if that

Any hints and tips for getting my baby off their dummy? They do have interest in their thumb, but it’s not consistent.
