I enjoyed being home with my son (for like 13m) but I really enjoy being back at work too.
I got a piece of my identity back. It was social seeing my colleagues and intellectually stimulating. I got some quiet time going to/from the office. It’s rewarding as I work with children and worked hard for my 3 university degrees.
Now I have to say that I am lucky where I only work like four hours a day, have all the same school breaks as my son, good benefits/retirement pension, etc. So I can balance work/home responsibilities well and still spend half the day with my son. I don’t feel like I’m missing out on him growing up or big milestones. I feel like I have the best of both worlds. But I might feel differently if I had a different career.
But it’s OK if you don’t feel like staying home is for you. You gotta do what’s best for you. Because you can’t pour from an empty cup. And a happy mom means happy babies.

I considered the idea of being a SAHM but decided against it and I’m so grateful to be a working mom. It has its challenges, but my kids exhaust me in a way that work could never. I love them so much and love the time I have with them but at the end of a long weekend I am wiped out. I have so much respect for SAHMs because the amount of energy it takes to be “on” 100% of the time is immeasurable.

I have a friend who thrives as a SAHM. I have another friend who went back to full time work as soon as her son turned 2 (her and her husband's goal). She honestly barely made it and there was a night and day difference between her mental health immediately before and after.
I, personally cannot do full-time stay at home mom. I also really struggle working full time and not being with my kid. Luckily, I'm in a position where part-time work is incredibly viable. Each mom is different and there's no right or wrong way of being.
This morning I had to call an ambulance because my 2 year old went pale and was struggling to breath. They came and gave him oxygen and steroids. They said it was a pretty bad case of croup cough and booked a follow up app later on today to see if he needs another dose of the steroids. I called my boss (the owner of the small buisness) to tell her I won’t be coming and she went crazy on me saying she has a life too she needs to take her kids to swimming class and make dinner. I’m shocked at how she reacted and compared her situation to mine. In general that place is really understaffed and I’ve been working for weeks without an actual day off, we also get lunch deducted from our pay but we have to eat while working due to being understaffed. I’m currently pregnant and because my son was ill the past few days I’ve not been sleeping so today I started hallucinating and felt like I’m gonna pass out few times during the day. I am so mentally drained from this place being toxic and I feel like I can’t quit cause I won’t get any maternity pay later on, I’m thinking to report her but I don’t know where

Why is it so difficult to make lasting, ride or die, bestie friendships as an adult let alone a isolated SAHM. It feels defeating. It’s even harder when you’re an introvert on top of being isolated. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi mamas!!
I'm looking for someone to text with for accountability!! I workout every day in some way, shape, or form but it's definitely a tad boring without a buddy to brag to!! I'd love to find someone who wants to share workout progress, weight loss and sculpting progress, workout plans and meals plans, and just general mama chatting with me as we go on our fitness journey!! Fitness is so much more fun with a buddy!
I currently do a lot of treadmill walking/running, pilates, diastasis recti core healing, intermittent fasting, and healthy eating.
I'm also a total nerd. I love suduko, chess, drawing and coloring, reading and writing, crocheting, DIY projects, and Pinterest is my life.
Comment if you want an Accountability Buddy!! 💜🖤
