Toilet training help

We started toilet training in January this year when our son was 2.5 years old. We are now 8/9 months in and we are still having wee and poo accidents near enough every day. We have tried everything I can absolutely think of and I don’t know what more I can do.

I have spoken to the health visitors, his nursery for any advice but nothing has worked. He knows when he has had an accident (not always) but it doesn’t seem to click for him that feeling of needing to go or telling us when he needs to go. It is incredibly discouraging and when we take him to the toilet he gets upset. We don’t put pressure on him because it puts him off but we make the toilet accessible and available to him always.

I am just really at a loss of what to do and I am not putting him back in nappies because that’s moving backwards. I just can’t think of what to do apart from hope that it’ll just click for him one day and it concerns me when he is ideally supposed to be starting school next September but if he isn’t ready toilet wise, I don’t feel I can send him to school until he has mastered it.

Any advice or thoughts welcome

Ive had 5 attempts of doing this with my LG and she was exactly like that, in the end we took a long break no mention of toilet or potty if she asked i took her but waited till she was able to understand more and summer hold was my last attempt, 1st week everyday was accident and I was bitterly about to throw in the towel think shes not going to get it, and by the 2nd week she was sitting on the toilet cos she outgrew the potty and was uncomfortable for her, she had maybe 2 accidents a week but that was the best progress we had in over a yr, and I tried everything! I know putting him in nappies is going backwards but maybe its not its giving him time to recognise and understand better, have you tried reusable pants?

i found that my little girl had accidents when she was wearing knickers, i think she thought it was a nappy so went naked and she got it, then we reintroduced knickers, dont know if you have tried naked from waist down

I’m in the same situation sort of, my boy knows, but sometimes just does it in his undies. Because he was quite good a while ago but then started having accidents again.

I want to try this, but I’m so scared of the mess, the house, things getting ruined. How did you do it??

she didnt have any accidents being naked, only when we used pants from nappies, after being naked a few days we introduced knickers again and she was fine, we have kept nappy on for bed though cause she had accidents at night but i need to get on that now x

Husband

My husband says I’m weak minded and he wants a divorce.
I’m pregnant and we have one child together.
I currently am a stay at home mum.

I told him I’m not weak minded or jealous.
All this coming out so harshly is pure evil.

I said divorce but let me find a job first.
He did say to abort the child too.
He is happier without me.

He says first pregnancy I shown no hormonal symptoms like I am now.

Also he says never seen someone argue with their parents like me. I said my dad is a wind up and mum is hot headed.
I still speak to them after we do argue.

I said give one good quality of me.
He says I’m good at cleaning.
I said what about intelligence?

He did not say anything.

He said I hope after abortion you are fine.
I’m like wtf is wrong with you?
I am a fucking strong woman, I’m not weak minded or jealous.

Because of me he don’t have to do drop off and pick ups from nursery.

I actually will probably do an abortion as don’t want to have it with this man.

I want to leave him asap and take my son with me.

Anyone overwhelmed?

I have a 16 week old daughter. Don’t get me wrong. I love being a mum and she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me but I find myself getting so so bored and find being with her all day so monotonous. I have tried to do things to break up the days I go on lots of walks I try and go and visit my parents or I have visitors round. I’ve joined a baby sensory class. I’m planning on going to a library session but it just still feels really boring and repetitive. I had a very active and busy job before maternity. I really struggle to get anything done for myself even down to basics sometimes like self-care or tidying the house. I find I really struggle as it gets to the evening because I’ve been with her all day and I’m so tired and I know that I’m only gonna get an hour or two of relief from my husband and then I’m gonna have to do it all again overnight does anyone else feel like this? Or have any advice on how I can get past the feeling of boredom and monotony but also the feeling of just being quite overwhelmed by all at times?

Feel so alone

Hey, i think I just needed to have a vent, ive not always been the best parent to my other half but we both decided to have a baby and now shes here shes the most amazing baby ever shes so happy and so content and I love her to pieces, but my partner has literally done nothing he says hes struggling to bond to her but hes not doing anything about it, since we have been home from the hospital I have spent every last waking moment plus sleepless nights with our daughter feeding changing and everything in between, and i have spent the last 3 weeks sleeping in the sofa due to him being full of anxiety of every noise she makes, I know this is his first child and I know some fathers take time to bond with their child but it just feels like hes not willing to do anything about it, I have practically 0 family other than my 77 year old grandma and my friends are living their own lives and are doing their own thing, and just when I think we are making progress by talking and stuff it just feels like its 1 step forward and 5 steps back, I just feel like im doing this all alone and ive tried to voice all this to him but he doesnt seem to understand, im sorry for pouring all this on here but I just feel so alone

Teething calpol

If youre giving calpol for teething how often are you giving them? Our 16wo is showing signs and weve just given for the first time and it seems to have instantly made a difference. Hes been sucking on muslins and chewing his fingers for a couple weeks but this totally changed his mood. Dont want him in pain but also dont want to be giving every 4hrs for weeks too either?

Uneven backyard?

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this issue. My baby was born January this year so next summer I want to have a play area set up in the backyard for him- our front yard is very small as we live in a culdesac but our backyard quite big but is very uneven and almost like a hill. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what did you do? Eventually I want to have a swing set but obviously I can’t do that on a hill
