During my pregnancy my midwife appointments were moved from my gp surgery to my local sports centre.
I've just had the baby and now my 5 day appointment has been scheduled at the sports centre. I'm in pain from my c section and really don't fancy going out with a newborn to a sports centre of all places.
When I mentioned this on my day 1 home visit I was told that my partner could take the baby if I didn't feel up for it?? I'm sure the appointment is supposed to be for the both of us as im the one that's just gone through huge life change. Has anyone else received the same message.

I thought the day 5 was a home visit???

I thought it should be a home visit ?

Should be a home visit, say no

I don’t know what’s worse - the fact that it’s not a home visit on day 5, or the they suggest you separate from your baby that early on! Personally, I would question the fact that it’s not a home visit! X

I had a cesarean also, and Im sure at my 5 day appointment (being a home visit) they checked on my scar and removed the dressing. So surely its the wrong recommendation from them to not go along to the appointment also

I had the same - midwife apps moved to the sports centres and I had to travel 30 mins away rather than my nearest one too. That centre actually had quite a nice suite area for the appointments, my local centre was just a single room off the main reception area. They mainly checked the baby at the appointment but asked me to take a photo of my scar the day before so they could check progress on how it was healing.

I had a c section 5 months ago and day 5 was a home visit where they checked my scar and took the dressing off for me. You should definitely push that it is due to be a home visit because you need that care too for someone to check on your scar! X
I see lots of babies on social media already holding their head and mine only lifts it briefly for a few seconds on tummy time and for a second when holding her upright.
Also she’s not rolling yet.
Just turned 3 months .

I found out a few weeks ago that my placenta is currently covering my cervix. I’m hopeful that this will move as baby grows but looking for what others experiences was in this position. Did your placenta move as baby grew? Did you find you was able to give birth naturally? Or did you have to have a c-section? Trying be as prepared as possible for the potential outcome. Ideally I don’t want a c-section personally as I’ll have a 15/16month when baby will be here but I’m understanding that it might have to happen.

I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep having pains in my back/side and it’s exactly like a cramp and it feels as if that part of my back seizes up and tightens and I can’t get rid of the pain, has anyone else had this and if so do you know how to get rid of it 😫 it’s been like this for over a week now, I can’t do anything without it getting triggered, I feel like it may be from the position baby girl is in but I feel so helpless I’m in pain literally everyday 🥲

Had my growth scan today (38+5 weeks) and baby girl is at a EFW of 8.7lbs 😅 The lady doing the ultrasound was amazed at how big she was asking if she’s previously been measuring big, asking if I have GD (which I don’t), said baby has a chubby belly so my placenta must be doing a really good job, that she’s very very low down, her legs are very very long and said “wow you must be feeling that, this baby is going to be a bruiser”.
Throughout my whole pregnancy she’s been measuring big and I’ve always taken her efw with a pinch of salt as they’re not 100% accurate and have been quite excited to give birth but after the sonographers comments today I just feel so nervous and anxious for labour. I’m in constant pain because of how low she is, my 🐱 has swollen and the lightning crotch is unbearable to walk/sit/lay down. Did anyone else’s baby measure big during their ultrasound appointments? If so, how was it in labour? Will they suggest a c section for me because of her weight? I want to go all natural as I have sciatica so don’t want an epidural incase it messes up my back more and I really want to push.

I need help choosing a name for my second girl. I don’t want anything unusual but I want gently unique. Not top 10 names as they are so common. I don’t like names like river, romy etc as they are too out there for my liking.
I also don’t care about it “matching” my first.

That’s it really.. I am almost 38 weeks. Took annual leave before my maternity. I have to clean but all I done for a week is bed rot watching Netflix. I can’t sleep either as I get pains and bad contractions. I cook but that’s about it. I am fed up, useless and feel bad..
