Hip cramps & pain at night - 23weeks (have had it for ages)

Although it might be a normal symptom for pregnancy, I haven’t slept properly in what feels like months now. I eat a banana a day, drink as much water I can, and use magnesium body butter at night. Can anyone recommend something that worked for them? I have been looking at Oshun magnesium and/or electrolytes that I can add to water but remember my midwife telling me not to take electrolytes/extra. Any advice welcome, I just wanted to sleep without the constant “left, right, left, right…” Sometimes up at 3/4am and still working full-time teaching maths so really struggling. 🙏🏼

Sounds like PGP, I have it too it’s awful. I had it in my last pregnancy too and all they did was prescribe me short term codeine which I wouldn’t take, and then there is physio but would be waiting for the majority of the pregnancy just for a referral. I’m starting pregnancy yoga this weekend to see if I can help stretch it out a little bit! I work 12 hour shifts on my feet too and it absolutely cripples me after a few hours, I struggle to even put my toddler in his cot at the end of the day 😞

I’ve had this with my both of my pregnancies and I wish I could give you a solution! I had physio with my first and both physio and midwife did suggest trying paracetamol before you go to bed. X

I take aspirin before bed now, so hesitant to take paracetamol too but will try it one night to see if I can sleep better, thank you x

If a GP is able to give you some recommended exercises while you wait for a physio referral, that might help a bit. I had back issues, waited about 10 weeks for a physio appointment which in the end didn't do much for me apart from giving me some exercises to do. Exercises that were the same as the ones I was sent by the GP anyway. The exercises did help a bit.

Heya! I take Oshun in case you need a referral but also see a physio- they do massage my hips and back for me whilst laying on my side! I have PGP too (its awful) but I do end up swapping sides most hours of sleep during the night! I think I am just so used to it now! Sleep with a pillow between your knees if you don't already and you are also allowed to use a massage gun on low- so I do that every night before bed on my thighs and Glutes when things are really playing up! X

Should I be worried my obgyn is acting sketchy?

I went for my anatomy scan she said baby girl is perfect. But then referred me for a 2nd anatomy scan to check for placental problems. I asked was there signs of any issues and she said it’s just a precaution. But many of my mom friends say they haven’t had to get a 2nd opinion and feel she should have be more straight forward.

Contacting hospital before arrival for labour UK

Hi guys, I was wondering how I’d go about calling the maternity unit at the hospital to let them know I’m in labour in preparation of a water birth. I was told by my midwife to contact them once I start labour but unsure whether I’d call 999 or triage as it wasn’t clear in the conversation.

Pregnancy after C-section

I’m 5.5 weeks pregnant. I had a C section with my last baby almost 4 years ago. Did anyone else experience more cramps with activity in their pregnancies after having had a C-section? I’m thinking it might be due to scar tissue? I’m really worried bc the pain is pretty intense. Any and all feedback is welcome! The doctor is no help
