I am just curious how everybody is getting there little ones to nap/sleep. Share your methods below, such as binky no binky, shushing humming or silence, rocking chair, walking, yoga ball, swaddled, sleep sack etc.
would love to hear! Maybe it will help someone too :)!
For me I have an area in the bedroom I can make darker and a yoga ball and I go there to calm him down. We start to bounce pretty strong at first if he is overtired or fussy, and shushing, no binky & either in sleep sack or regular clothes, then once he calms down and starts to yawn (because he knows this is always where he falls asleep) I shush quietly then stop completely and do little pulse bounces and he’s usually out in 5-10 minutes then I walk to rocking chair and sit with him for about 10/15 minutes until he stops moving his hands and rests his facial muscles I know I can set him down in his basinet to continue sleeping without waking him up.
I also got a Tommy tipee pacie today and he fell asleep in like 3 minutes. 😮 very happy about that too !

I highly recommend the Moms on Call books! Keeping a schedule has helped us tremendously. We are out of the swaddle now but I have those little zip up sleeping bags that keep his arms free. He sleeps in a bassinet in our room that has a Snuggle Me in it. We have a Lectro Fan sound machine that we use during naps and at night. He takes several naps in the swing, too. This helps him go to sleep during the day.

For us our LO is 3 months and I will start by putting her back in her swaddle then sit on the couch holding her horizontal with her face pointed down in the crook of my arm. Then butt pats with binky(we use the mam brand) until she relaxes, slows her breathing down. Eventually decreasing frequency/intensity until I can stop all together without her waking back up. In her bassinet I put blankets under the sheet to that it functions like a snuggle me. I also preheat the sheets with my heating pad and play rushing water sounds on a white noise machine.

Our little gets bathed fed rocked and hummed/ sang to and transferred to bed.
If he’s too fussy to be fed I give him his paci ( Tommy tipee brand) until he either calms down or falls asleep

At night, we put our daughter in a transitional swaddle with one arm out and one arm in the wing & turn on white noise then my husband puts her in what I call the “Superman” hold and he paces around the house OR I just nurse her to sleep before we transition her to her bedside bassinet. For naps, I baby wear while I get things done around the house or nurse her to sleep and lay her on her stomach (supervised).
Do you and when did you start turning on ms.rachel for your little ones? My baby is 10 months and I don't turn on any screens for her but I have heard that people start early to help with speech development. Obviously in moderation. Any thoughts

Hi all, does anyone have recommendations for a good nappy for nights? 3 month old is sleeping in good stretches but nappies can’t keep up. Tried Aldi and pampers and now on Sainsbury’s and they are great in day but not at night?! Thanks so much

My 4 week old seems to just not want to settle/sleep unless she is on me or my husband or being nursed by me. Every time I try to transfer tonight she just starts crying and getting inconsolable. Have made sure she’s fed, burped, helped with gas, changed etc but nothing seems to be working tonight when usually she is ok. I am absolutely exhausted and my husband is working tomorrow so having to manage solo is pretty tough. Anyone else or any suggestions?

Hello! What do you do to stop the baby from rolling off the edge of the bed? Out bed is quite high and LO had now learnt to roll!

My 6 day old hasn’t done a poo for almost 72 hours now. He’s been passing wind and peeing normally. The last time I spoke to the midwife, it had been 48 hours since his last poo, and she said she wasn’t too worried and advised me to continue feeding him.
I’m calling again tomorrow, but I wanted to see if anyone has experienced something similar. We switched from formula to 100% breastfeeding about 3 days ago, and I have no idea whether he’s getting enough milk. I can see and hear him swallowing, but it’s still so confusing trying to know how much he’s actually getting.
Any thoughts or similar experiences?
