Hi, I failed my one-hour glucose test, and I couldn’t tolerate the three-hour test because I vomited the glucose drink. My fasting numbers have actually been really good and never go above 90. After meals, my numbers usually stay around 109–150 at most.
Today, though, I got really stressed because I ate a half wheat Subway sandwich with water, and one hour after eating, my glucose was 214 and my blood pressure was low and had headaches It scared me so much that I cried because I honestly don’t know what to do. I’ve never experienced anything like this in my previous pregnancies.
I’ve been monitoring my glucose on my own, and I have an appointment with my OB next week. I’m planning to show her all of my readings.
Honestly, I’m extremely scared, because i see is bad and i would not want to get a c section or to be induced, I know that the stress isn’t helping me. I’m going to do my best to eat as healthy as I can, but it feels so hard because I’ve been having so many cravings. I just want to make sure my baby and I are okay.🥹 and btw my ob hasn’t told me that I have gestational diabetes, but based on my readings, I feel like I might end up having it.

So I had the same thing recently. I just realized that there is a way to help counteract the sugar spikes. It sounds like you tried to counter balance it a bit by ordering a sandwich with protein. But protein heavy meals tend to help counter balance the sugars from carbs a bit. Maybe do more meat or protein than breads or carbs. I know it sounds super rough especially if you're not used to protein heavy meals.

An example is I had a sandwich today with Three scrambled eggs, two pieces of bacon and two pieces of bread for breakfast. I had a smaller meal for lunch of two hash brown patties and a couple strawberries with a large glass of milk. Then I had what I call Mexican Lasagna. It is hamburger meat, black beans, cheese, cream cheese and a couple slivers of tortilla between the layers. All kept me within a lower Carb diet.

Calling in sick from work

Please someone reassure me it is okay to do this as I can’t stop myself feeling guilty. I’ve called in sick today from work as I’m burnt out, exhausted and not feeling great. Also my mental health has been shocking. I’m 19 weeks pregnant with a 17 month old and never get the chance to just do nothing or rest. All my holiday had to be used before I returned to work or I wouldn’t have been paid so I don’t have any holiday to take now, calling in sicks my only choice. It doesn’t help either that last week I was REALLY struggling with my mental health and had 2 breakdowns at work then as I was leaving on the last day a colleague fell out with me, threatened to discuss it with a manager and I left in floods of tears in a bad way. I’ve not been back since and am dreading returning. Annoyingly though I’ve slept this morning after dropping my lo to nursery and I feel no more energised for it🤦🏼‍♀️

C-section question.

How soon did people drive after c-section?

I know the advice is 6 weeks but did anyone go sooner?

Growth scan!

We went for a growth scan today as my bump was measuring smaller(currently 37 weeks) , however, they’ve said she looks to be growing really well and currently weighs 7lb 4 which is apparently slightly above average! Would this be 100% right? Or has anyone been told that their babies weight is one thing on a growth scan and completely different when they’re born? It’s our first baby so have no idea🩷

How long did you stay in hospital after a c-section?

My second baby is breech at 37 weeks, my first was a vaginal birth.
How long did you ladies stay at home after your c-section? I want to have the time to recover, but I don't want to be away from my daughter for any longer than I have to.
